Juncker”, the helmet plate consisting of a plain silver star without the entwined motto scroll, the centre with painted “enamel”, top point mounted with a small gilt Landwehr cross, with gilt chinscales, large national and state rosettes, pale green silk lining with leather sweat band, leather lining to the peak and black velvet lining to the “lobster tail”. A Hanoverian cavalry officer’s gilt helmet, c 1825, the skull with applied acanthus leaves to the back, the front peak with broad binding to rim, plain tall comb with black hair crest (detached), rayed helmet plate embossed with crowned Hanoverian arms in motto strap, with supporters and surmounted by a crown, and scroll on either side “Peninsula” and “Waterloo”, and at the top 2 further scrolls “Garzia” and “Hernandes”, right side chinscales and ear rosette of star in circle (left side missing). New York, of stout leather construction, the brim and broad neck guard with embossed scroll border, panelled sides with reinforcing ribs, brass eagle top, shaped rising front panel bearing applied white letters “North Beach”, large 1 on crossed ladders and fireman’s hook, and initials “VSFDNY”, soft leather lining.
