Crowned star mounted with laurel sprays and Garter, the dark crimson velvet centre with regimental Maltese cross device ornamented in retouched red, blue and green enamels superimposed on Roussillon plume. Mounted on the base of the wreath, a silver tri-part scroll ‘THE ROYAL SUSSEX REGT’. Three loops to reverse. Minor service otherwise VGC.

Generally VGCOriginally raised as 26th Middlesex Rifle Vols in 1860 by Customs Officers in the London Docks, renumbered 15th Middlesex RV in 1881.

Guelphic crowned ‘MIDDLESEX’ tablet on laurel sprays surrounding a Maltese cross, with ball finals to the tips and lions between the arms; to the centre, a plain dome within a circlet ‘RIFLE’; between the base of the cross and the wreath, a scroll ‘REGIMENT’. Three loops to reverse. Minor wear otherwise VGC.Raised at Paddington in 1860 as 36th ; redesignated 18th in 1880 and joined the Rifle Brigade 1881.

Small purpose made hole below wheel to facilitate Militia ‘M’. Three loops to reverse. Small fracture to Unicorn’s horn otherwise VGC.
WW1 Warwickshire Yeomanry Attributed Wolseley Pattern Foreign Service Helmet.A very good example attributed to 1703 Lance Corporal Harold Norman Burrows. The helmet is of the regulation pattern, to the left side a regimental pattern pagri badge. The interior retains leather sweatband, ink date stamp 1907 and regimental number “1703”. Retaining chinstrap. ... Accompanied by associated goggles. Very Good Condition.1703 Lance Corporal Harold Norman Burrows is confirmed as serving with the Regiment having joined in 1911. He is confirmed as landing in Egypt on the 11th April 1915, the regiment later landed at Gallipoli as a dismounted unit. It appears in September he was ill and returned to the UK for discharge in January 1916.
Coldstream Guards Victorian Officer’s “Boer War” Pattern Foreign service helmet.A very good example of the style associated with the Sudan and Boer War. The helmet is of the white doe skin, with seven fold pagri and leather edging. To the crown a gilt metal spike, to the right side a scarlet cut feather hackle. To the front regimental pattern pagri star of a cut silvered Garter Star; mounted on the Star, a pierced Garter on a rich blue enamel ground; within the Garter, the Cross of St.George in red enamel. Fitted with a Guards pattern gilt chin chain with velvet backing The interior is with leather sweatband, with crimson silk edging. Clear ink stamp of Hawkes & Co London and details of a Rankin of Calcutta. Remains in near very good condition.
4th Royal Irish Dragoon Guards Rare Senior NCO’s Helmet.A good 1871 example, possibly worn by a Warrant Officer or Senior NCO. Gilded skull surmounted by a crosspiece base and 4 inch high plume socket supporting a white horsehair plume(gilt rose boss absent) Skull ornamented with a laurel wreath above the front peak and an oak leaf band rising from the edge of the neck piece and terminating under the crosspiece at the top. To the front an Officer’s pattern cut silver eight pointed star of the Most Illustrious Order of St. Patrick mounted with pierced gilt motto circlet on a light blue enamel ground. To the voided centre, St. Patrick’s cross in red enamel on a lined silver field. To the centre of the cross a green enamelled shamrock with three gilt, red enamelled crowns (enamel damage) . Gilt rose pattern ear bosses support the 1 inch wide, black leather backed, plain burnished chain. The interior fitted with an issue pattern leather lining with paper label for Firmin & Co of London. Gilt remains bright small amount of age wear.
