Vic Taylor of Hayling rare original family professional British carved wooden Punch & Judy set, possibly late 19th century, carved and painted wood heads, hands and feet, comprising Mr Punch —21in. (53.5cm.) high, Judy, crocodile, two boxers with boxing ring front, Chinaman, ghost, Joey the Clown, ‘Jim Crow, policeman with carved helmet, hangman and baby, old clothing and paint finish, but this would have been improved and restored through the years (cloth now with some moth damage and in need of conservation) - Vic Taylor was born in 1900, the son of a travelling magician, during the 1st World War, his father built a Punch & Judy, he learnt the business and travelled the South of England end up at Hayling Island, where he passed his act onto Bill Norman, the card labels attached are by Bill.

A pair of late 18th/early 19th Century Chinese porcelain sauceboats of inverted helmet form, the main bodies decorated with floral sprays in oxide reds, blacks and gilt raised on an oval foot 24 cm long x 9.5 cm wide x 9.8 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Sauceboat one with hairline crack to one of the top lobes approx. 2 cm vertically. Some signs of wear and dirt to the base. Otherwise in good condition. Some blemishes to the glaze as in firing faults particularly to the underside of the handle exterior and underside of the spout exterior. A small firing fault chip to the left hand side of the spout. Sauceboat two with small hairline crack to the interior beneath the handle, also beneath the glaze approx. .75 cm. Some blemishes to the glaze particularly to the area beneath the spout, again firing faults. See images for further detail
