Rare WWII Japanese imperial army helmet of general TADAMICHI KURUBAYASHI. Exceptionally rare helmet attributed to Lieut general tadamichi Kuribayashi commander of iwo Jima island 1945. Only a handful of imperial Japanese army helmets like this exist today; double & the weight of an ordinary imperial japanese army helmet. Original black paint & red painted star. Original interior leather liner with bullet wound bandages under each flap. paint exterior in excellent condition, interior paint excellent condition.The rare Japanese Kurabayashi helmet is uniquely intentionally black colored like the black Sands on Iwo Jima Tadamichi Kuribayashi requested this helmet be colored that way.

Falklands War Argentine Battle Damaged Steel Combat Helmet, Argentine M1 pattern steel combat helmet with torn original camouflage cover. One side to helmet features an impact dent from blunt force contact. Original straps attached to side, with inside liner removed due to excessive staining after the event. Multiple stain patches, likely bloodstained. Scott Ward (LCoH),Tank Commander, states that he collected the helmet on the Southern Attack at Mount Tumbledown whilst supporting the Scots Guards, the helmet was collected from an Argentine soldier the morning after the attack during ceasefire 15th June 1982 and brought home to England. (See also lots, 124, 125, 126 & 127.)
Dublin - A late 18th century silver helmet shaped cream jug, mark of Matthew West, 1792, decorated with repoussé foliate and scroll swags under two engraved crests of COVELL, reeded rim and scroll handle, raised on a circular pedestal base with symmetrical decoration, 15cm high, 5.7oztOverall in fair to good condition. Some minor surface scratches and nicks as to be expected and commensurate with age and use. Hallmarks and crests a little worn but still readable. Evidence of a repair to the handle at both ends; where it joins the rim of the jug, and at the other end where it joins the body of the jug, neither particularly well done. Stands well on a flat surface with no wobble.
A 1930s Chief Officer's plated Merry Weather fire brigade helmet with standard brigade cross axe helmet plate depicting a looped hose connected to two branch pipes surmounted with a torch motif, complete with chin strap, rosettes and velvet liner, on later mahogany stand and plinth base with presentation plaque, height 30cm. Provenance - With letter of provenance showing it as having been purchased in 1972 for £25 from Bexhill on Sea following an advert in Exchange and Mart. Originally purchased in 1910 by the local town council of the town of Battle in Sussex for their Chief Fire Officer of the Battle Volunteer Fire Brigade apparently named Newbury.
