Fine, bronze hilt, shell-guard portraying a person in relief, with a Corinthian helmet on his head, rinceaux around on a dotted ground. Grip portraying men of classic era, surrounded by palmettes and flowers on a dotted ground. Pommel and guard with portrays in bass-relief and decorations en suite. length 96,5 cm.

dating: circa 1800 provenance: Italy, Straight, double-edged blade of lozenge section; solid silver hilt, no plate on the shell-guard. quillon's ends shaped as ram's and lion's heads, loop-guard decorated with floral motifs, ending in a winged lion; pommel's head shaped as antique helmet with a winged horse and bird's head. Grip with monogram 'F1' inside a shield among floral motifs. Metal, leather-covered scabbard with silver, engraved mounts. length 95.5 cm.

Raisable visor, en suite, with two eye-slots and sharpened snout-faced, sides decorated with notches, spring-button for ventail fixing, ribbed in the center, pierced with ventilation rosette. Smooth beaver, plume-holder. Riveted front and back plate, interlocking. Gorget composed of three, front and back, pates, the highest one with twisted border. Breast-plate ribbed in the center, neckline and gussets (riveted) with high border, decorated en suite. The second loin-guard and the back one are restored. Pauldrons with complete brassards, left side with tournament buffe, margin with a recessed band and twisted borders. Eight-plate tassets, with borders en suite. Interesting armour with some touch-up, but of a beautiful appearance. height 107 cm.

dating: 1560 - 1570 provenance: Southern Germany, Helmet with iron skull, provided with a small comb, back part in two pieces, riveted and with plume-holder; visor ribbed in the center, slightly raised tip and with the only eye-slot, ventail ribbed in the center, smooth beaver, two plates of the neckguard and one of the nape-guard. Different repairs. Elegant breast-plate, ribbed with tapul, with protruding and twisted neckline and gussets (riveted), five, circular stamps shaping a cross under the neckline, a folding rest on the right side, with mark 'WR' above the carousel helmet, two loin-guards. Complete with back-plate with two culet plates, gorget with pauldrons with five (the left one with six) plates; the arm-cannons with undulated lower border, elbow-piece with wings, fore-arm and knuckle-shields. Tassets with eight plates and knee-cop. Small parts missing and defects, but all in all a fine uniform armour. On a wooden mannequin with suede boots. height total 170 cm.

dating: 1560-80 provenance: Italy, In iron, the skull in one piece with medium-high comb and twisted border, sharpened brim a recessed band and hemmed border, back part carved en suite. The comb engraved with dragon's heads among bands and floral motifs, the sides with wide floral bands, brim's plates and neckline engraved with flowers. Cheek-piece with airing holes shaped as rosette and borders carved en suite. The helmet suffered a strong blow on the rear right side and on the cheek-piece that was restored in the time of use, small damages on the comb. Row of rivets with brass rosettes. height 32 cm.

dating: First half of the 17th Century provenance: Naples or Spain, Viscontea-type helmet without sight with heavy skull, in one piece, ribbed in the center and engraved with a gilded band with floral motifs. Chanfrin with raisable, ribbed brim and with hemmed, smooth border, central band and borders decorated en suite. Beaver with open facial part and neck and nape-guard's plate decorated in the same way, finished helmet's surface. Simple gorget with vertical upper border. Beautiful breast-plate provided with outlined neckline and gussets, engraved and gilded with Constantinian Order of Saint George on a neck-ribbon. Neckline and gussets decorated with bands en suite with the helmet, the same decoration also on the back-plate. Pauldrons complete with finished vambrace, decorated with double lines (so as the helmet) but without gilded engravings. Elbow-piece with square wings, embossed in the center. height as shown circa 72 cm.

Two, movable plates above the beaver, the upper one en suite with chanfrin. Well outlined, smooth beaver. Two plates of the neck and nape-guard. All elements decorated with double lines. Strongly cleaned surface. Small restores and defects. Simple neck-collar. Fine breast-plate ribbed in the center, neckline and gussets (riveted) with raised and twisted border. Three loin-guards with five-plate tassets, all with upper border chiselled with waves, the lower one with a recessed band and hemmed border. Back-plate with nape-guard. Complete with brassards with knuckle-shields and full-leg defense, all decorated with double lines, the shoes with grooved tip. On a wooden mannequin. height 170 cm.

A George III painted satinwood travelling case, the banded top with two oval panels painted with classical female figures, the front painted with floral swags and with pierced white metal escutcheons, the sides with whitemetal carrying handles, the two-piece hinged top opening to reveal a fitted interior lined in red velvet, with Wedgwood & Bentley black basalt part tea service, painted in iron red and white with anthemion, beaded borders and classical instruments, comprising a teapot, cover and stand, sugar bowl and cover, a tapering cylindrical hot water jug and cover with silver spout, helmet shaped cream jug, a cup and saucer, plus six cut glass condiment bottles and jugs and a silver mounted cut glass vase shaped sugar bowl, with two short drawers beneath, on a later satinwood stand painted with swags of flowers, on square tapered legs, 18 x 13 1/8in. (45.75 x 33.3cm.), 22in. (56cm.) high. * Provenance: Christie's London, unknown sale date, Lot 470. ** Condition: The two lifting sections of top with oval paintings show some signs of damage. The right hand section has a 3/4in. section of the diagonal Edge banding missing at the back right. The painted figure holding aloft a cross has two splits across the centre of the oval one of approx. 4in. and the other approx. 2in. The left-hand section has a slight bow to the top which has caused a split at the front approx. 3in. from the left side in a wave shape across to the right side. A small section of the diagonal edge stringing is missing from the front left corner approx. 1/4in. long.A piece of the cross banding is missing from the front right corner of this lid. The lidded jug of the Tea Set is impressed Wedgwood & Bentley and a hand painted red 'O'. The teapot lidded Sucrier and milk jug also have the red 'O'. The other three pieces are unmarked. In the fitted right hand side there are four silver mounted small cut and faceted bottles, 2 silver mounted jugs and a bowl plus 2 spare bottles and stoppers. The silver mounts differ in design between the bottles and jugs thus the glassware has been matched to fit the piece. The two drawers and the stand appear undamaged.
