Generally good overall condition with just some minor dents to the shell.

Mortar board stamped with WD markings. Generally good condition example.

Fine officers gilt metal helmet plate to the centre, lion head bosses holding velvet back linked chin chains. Gilt metal circular plume socket with later kings crown regimental button. Interior complete with officers pattern leather sweatband and crimson silk lining, remains of tailors details to the inside. Helmet is housed in its original storage tin with brass name plaque engraved, “Hamilton H Johnston Esq 9th Lancers”. All the gilt finish remains to the helmet fittings.

Leather body with gilt bullion wire and embroidered bullion wire to the peak. Helmet is complete with its original officers silver gilt helmet plate to the centre. Bullion embroidered plume socket holder with cipher of Edward VII to the centre. Blue swan feather plume with officers gilt plume socket fitting. Interior complete with leather sweatband and crimson lining. Accompanied by a black and white photograph, believed to be of the original owner of the helmet, wearing full dress uniform including this helmet. A superb example of a very rare helmet.

Complete with leather sweatband to the interior and only partial remains of the officers cloth lining.

Indian Army Skinners Horse Officers Foreign Service Helmet, fine six panelled officers white foreign service helmet with folded cloth wide regimental pagri which we believe to be for Skinners Horse. Leather backed officers brass linked chinstrap. Interior peaks lined with green felt which has been heavily moth damaged. Interior also with leather sweatband which has ink name “Vicky Harwood” probably later applied and a J B Johnstone Military Tailors label to the crown. Housed in an associated metal storage tin.

Cruciform spike base with rosette fittings and fluted removable spike. Interior complete with leather sweatband. Some slight misshaping to the rear of the helmet and fittings slightly dulled.

Interior with leather sweatband and artificial silk lining. Herbert Johnson tailors details to the interior of the helmet. Housed in its metal storage tin with stencilled lid, “Dr J H P GRAHAM”. Remains in generally good condition.

Samuel Brothers Ltd tailors details to the interior of the helmet. Some light areas of mothing to the blue cloth but much of the gilt wash remains to the fittings.

Great War British Steel Helmet Belonging to Brigadier General Cecil Aspinall-Oglander C.B C.M.G D.S.O, Royal Munster Fusiliers and One of the Key Figures in the Gallipoli Campaign, the steel helmet shell is the early rimless type which has the remains of the original apple green paint finish to the exterior. Fitted to the front of the helmet is his original Generals metal headdress badge. Interior of the helmet reveals more of the light green paint finish and the remains of the metal band which would have held a private purchase officers style liner system. Remains of the original leather chinstrap also to the shell. Good untouched example. Brigadier General Cecil Faber Aspinall-Oglander C.B C.M.G D.S.O, served with the Royal Munster Fusiliers, he was present at the actions during the Boer War and the Ashanti War. He was a veteran of the Gallipoli campaign where he wrote and contributed to many of the early accounts on the failure of the operation on the Gallipoli Peninsular. Brigadier General Cecil Aspinall-Oglander lived on the Isle of Wight until his death. The last member of the Aspinall-Oglander family sold the family home on the Isle of Wight and much of the contents, it was at this time that this helmet was discovered and sold to the current vendor who resides on the island. The current vendor later acquired at auction the medals and a oil painting of Aspinall-Oglander.

WW2 British Home Front Decontamination (Gas) Unit Steel Helmet, black painted steel shell with white stencilled “D C” to the centre. Helmet is complete with its original liner system and webbing chinstrap. Liner is dated 1939. Good untouched example.

WW2 British Steel Helmet of Jersey (Channel Islands) Interest, being a standard issue steel helmet which has a thick green overpaint finish to the exterior of the shell, outlines of where rank stripes and decals have once been present. Interior rim is painted in German “Jersey – Der Kanalinesln 1944”. Helmet is complete with its 1940 dated liner system and webbing chinstrap. We can only assume that this helmet was taken as a souvenir by a German soldier stationed on the Island during WW2. The Channel Islands were the only part of the United Kingdom to be occupied by the German forces during WW2.

WW2 Royal Artillery 1st Corps Officers Steel Combat Helmet, superb example of a WW2 British steel combat helmet retaining much of its original rough textured combat paint finish to the exterior. To the side is painted diamond of the Royal Artillery and the front has painted formation sign for the British 1st Corps. Interior complete with the original 1942 dated liner and webbing chinstrap. Painted to the interior of the shell is the original owners name, “CAPT. GRAHAM”.

WW2 British Dispatch Riders Steel Helmet, fine example retaining nearly all of its original rough textured paint finish to the exterior shell. The helmet is complete with its original 1942 dated liner system. Inked to the sweatband is “LT H.J.C. RAINBIRD”.

WW2 British Malta Camouflaged Battle Damaged Steel Combat Helmet, fine untouched example of a British steel helmet which retains much of its original Malta camouflage paint finish. The helmet has been damaged by bullets / shrapnel, with entry and exit holes on the shell. Interior retains an unusual pattern liner, possibly commonwealth made, which has also been badly damaged by the effects of a bullet or shrapnel, in keeping with the damage to the shell. Some rusting and wear but generally a good battle field relic.

Imperial German Prussian M-15 Other Ranks Pickelhaube, leather bodied pickelhaube fitted with grey metal other ranks pattern Prussian pickelhaube front plate, front trim, rear spine, removable spike and circular base with domed rivet fittings. Helmet has replaced chinstrap and un-finished cockades. Interior complete with its leather liner and rear peak is stamped “K.B.A.G 1916”. Impact dent to the shell and some of the fittings have been cleaned but otherwise a good example.

Interior complete with its leather liner. Replaced and repainted cockades. Some crazing to the leather shell. Interior with makers stamp and 1915 date.

Imperial German M-16 Camouflaged Steel Combat Helmet, fine untouched example retaining a dark camouflage paint finish which is broken up with thick dark lines. Interior retains the original leather three pad liner system and leather liner band. Fixing posts attached for the chinstrap. Some cracking and dryness to the leather liner pads but overall a good untouched example of a camouflaged helmet.

Scarce Imperial German Model 1842 Pickelhaube, being the large type leather bodied helmet with brass trimmed square dipped peak, scaled leather backed brass chin scales with single large pattern cockade. Prussian eagle helmet plate of 1842 pattern with remains of the Landwehr cross to the centre. Cruciform brass spike base with gilt securing stars, tall pattern fixed spike top. Interior has green leather to underside of peak and original leather liner remains. Helmet shows expected wear in keeping with age of the helmet. A very rare item of Imperial German headdress.

Officers national and principality state cockades with scaled leather backed white metal chin scales. Cruciform spike base with gilt metal securing stars and fluted officers spike. Helmet retains leather sweatband and officers style cloth lining. Accompanying the helmet is an original officers pattern trench cover with red central band. Helmet is housed in a modern replacement pickelhaube storage case. Colour difference between helmet plate and fittings.

Helmet has officers style leather sweatband and cloth lining. Helmet is housed in its original storage box. Some wear and one securing star loose but otherwise a nice example of a scarce helmet.

Imperial German Garde Pioneer or Garde Fusiliers Reserve Officers Helmet with Parade Plume, superb example having leather shell with officers frosted silver garde pattern wrap round eagle and large enamelled star burst to centre with gilt reserve cross underneath. Gilt scaled chinstraps with state and national officers pattern cockades. Circular spike base with gilt metal securing stars. Fitted to the helmet is the parade pattern black horsehair plume, this is in need of a little restoration with the top mount being loose. Helmet is complete with its original leather sweatband and officers style cloth lining. Helmet is housed in its correct large pattern leather storage container box.

Leather sweatband with gilt tooled patent details and officers cloth lining. Berlin makers mark to the underside of the spike. Helmet plate has been polished brighter than the rest of the fittings.

German Fire Officials Dress Dagger by Carl Eickhorn, having black leather grip retaining its wire binding, steeped steel pommel, cross guard with central crossed axes and fire helmet. Double edged blade with central ridge. The blade is etched with foliage and Fire Brigade motifs to the central panels of both sides. Carl Eickhorn makers trade mark to the base of the blade. Complete with the original leather and nickel silver mounts. Blade 33 ½ cms, overall 48cms.

Third Reich Double Decal Police Helmet, near mint condition example of the civilian type police steel helmet. Complete with both Police and Party shield decals which remain almost 100% intact. Helmet retains all of its original paint finish to the exterior and interior of the shell. Civilian pattern leather liner to the interior with cork spacers and leather civilian pattern chinstrap.

WW2 German Army Double Decal Battle Damaged Steel Combat Helmet, superb untouched example of an early Model 35 steel combat helmet with both army and tri-colour decals. Helmet also is complete with much of its original apple green paint finish to the shell. The helmet shell has multiple penetrations from both bullets and shrapnel etc. These impacts have greatly affected the leather liner to the interior which in a number of places the liner band has penetrated the leather liner. Shell is stamped “3891” and “ET62”. A truly fantastic battle damaged combat helmet.

WW2 German Police Field Combat Divisions Double Decal Steel Combat Helmet, fine example of a model M-42 retaining much of the original combat paint finish to the exterior and interior of the shell. Complete with both Police decal and national party shield. Helmet is complete with its original leather liner to the interior and leather chinstrap with aluminium buckle fitting. Generally a very good example. The German Police combat divisions were part of the Waffen-SS, they were heavily involved in the Anti-Partisan operations and were also responsible for a lot of the atrocities associated with the Third Reich, especially on the Eastern Front.

WW2 German Army Steel Combat Helmet of Channel Islands Occupation Interest, good example of a M-40 pattern steel helmet shell with a thick over paint finish to the exterior of the shell. Helmet is complete with its original single decal. Helmet retains its original leather liner and chinstrap. Shell stamped Q64 and 353. Ink label to the interior which reads, “This helmet is of special interest as it was left behind after the German evacuation. It was sent to me from St Hellier Jersey Channel Islands where it had been left by the Germans. It is in its original condition”.

Top of the shell is badly damaged and has three impact holes. Interior retains the original leather liner, but this is well worn and damaged. Shell stamped ET64 to the inside. Good untouched example.

WW2 German Battle of Normandy Steel Helmet Shell, fine example of a M-40 pattern German helmet shell which retains a rough textured camouflage finish to the exterior. Interior retains the original liner band and leather chinstrap. Attached to the helmet is a card label which reads, “FALAISE BATTLEFIELD RELIC – German steel helmet found in 1983 by a French farmer at Argantan. Mr J Ireland swapped it from him for other relics”.

Camouflage in three tone paint finish to the exterior and interior of the shell. Complete with the original leather liner to the interior and leather chinstrap. Shell stamped “SE64” and “3771”. Some wear and areas of damage to the liner. The shell has been coated in a protective varnish.
