Signed in blue ink with her name alone to the lower white border. Together with Helen Sharman (1963- ) British Chemist, the first British astronaut and the first woman to visit the Mir space station, 1991. Signed colour 4 x 6 photograph of Sharman seated in a half length pose wearing her spacesuit. Signed in black ink with her name alone to the centre of the image. Also including Alexei Leonov (1934- ) Russian Cosmonaut, the first human to conduct an EVA, 1965. Signed colour 10 x 8 photograph of Leonov in a head and shoulders pose within a space capsule. Signed in black ink to a clear area at the base of the image, further adding the words 'First woman in space, Vostok 6, 16.06 - 19.06, 1963' in her hand beneath her signature. Together with Alexei Leonov (1934- ) Russian Cosmonaut, the first human to conduct an EVA, 1965. Signed colour 10 x 8 photograph of Leonov in a head and shoulders pose wearing his white spacesuit and CCCP helmet. Signed in bold gold ink to the image, also adding the words 'First spacewalker Voskhod 2 18.03.65' in his hand above his signature. EX, 2
A French M15 Adrian Helmet World War One - era with metal comb affixed to the crown with four pins and with the insignia of the French Infantry - a flaming bomb with the initials RF (Republique Francaise) - the helmet features an intact seven finger brown leather liner, mounted with shell and bands of corrugated metal, and secured in the centre by an adjustable cord, the brown leather chin-strap is intact and secured with buckle. The helmet is painted dark blue throughout and there is expected aging marks (the Adrian is widely considered to the be first steel combat helmet in regular service in the modern era). A good Prussian Garde Cuirassier Reservist officer’s helmet, with gilt steel skull, silver rim, gilt domed rivet heads, nickel plated spike base and pierced spike holder, and fluted gilt spike, stamped on the inside of the crown “C.E. Juncker”, the helmet plate consisting of a plain silver star without the entwined motto scroll, the centre with painted “enamel”, top point mounted with a small gilt Landwehr cross, with gilt chinscales, large national and state rosettes, pale green silk lining with leather sweat band, leather lining to the peak and black velvet lining to the “lobster tail”. A Hanoverian cavalry officer’s gilt helmet, c 1825, the skull with applied acanthus leaves to the back, the front peak with broad binding to rim, plain tall comb with black hair crest (detached), rayed helmet plate embossed with crowned Hanoverian arms in motto strap, with supporters and surmounted by a crown, and scroll on either side “Peninsula” and “Waterloo”, and at the top 2 further scrolls “Garzia” and “Hernandes”, right side chinscales and ear rosette of star in circle (left side missing). A late 19th century American helmet of the 1st North Beach V.S. Fire Dept. New York, of stout leather construction, the brim and broad neck guard with embossed scroll border, panelled sides with reinforcing ribs, brass eagle top, shaped rising front panel bearing applied white letters “North Beach”, large 1 on crossed ladders and fireman’s hook, and initials “VSFDNY”, soft leather lining. A Third Reich photograph album, containing approx 120 photographs (some loose), mostly family, rural scenes, seaside, and farming with horses, and also RAD groups and informal army on manouvres (?); also 2 empty photograph albums with padded leather covers, each bearing metal eagle and swastika, one with 1939 Iron Cross, the other with rifle and helmet.
