A George III hallmarked silver helmet shaped cream jug with high loop handle, hallmarks obscured, height 12.5cm, and a small teapot of oval form with raised rim and wooden angled handle, bearing spurious marks of William Bennett (possibly), London 1809, length 19.5cm, combined approx 13.1ozt (2).
A good quality modern clockwork racing car and driver, modelled as a classic 1920s/30s sports car in yellow and black livery, with rubber tyres and leather effect seat and engine straps (with buckles), the driver in navy fabric overalls, white undershirt, belt and helmet, with jointed arms and composite body, length 49cm. CONDITION REPORT: Car in driver appear to be in good condition with only minor surface dirt, no manufacturers mark visible. Clockwork mechanism appear to be in working order.
A SOUTH GERMAN BURGONET, PROBABLY AUGSBURG, CIRCA 1600 with rounded one-piece skull (showing some losses at its left edge) rising to a high medial comb, projecting forward at its brow to an obtusely-pointed integral peak struck at the front with two indistinct marks, and backwards to a matching one-piece neck-guard, and fitted at each side with a hinged cheek-piece (the left associated and partly reworked) flanged outwards at its lower edge to serve as a continuation of the neck-guard, and pierced at its centre with five small auditory holes in dice-formation, the main edges of the helmet formed with plain inward turns, and its surface blackened overall 28.0 cm; 11 in
**A SOUTH GERMAN 'MAXIMILIAN' VISOR, CIRCA 1510-15 decorated beneath a stepped pair of vision-slits with three plain transverse ribs each enclosed by a pair of incised lines, pierced with six slender horizontal ventilation-slots and superimposed by eight circular ventilation-holes, and the rear ends of its pivot-arms (the left one cracked at its lower edge) with later riveted extensions pierced with a second pair of pivot-holes to adapt it to another helmet (lightly patinated overall) 13.0 cm;5? in height 20.7cm; 8¼ in width 19.0 cm; 7½ in depth Provenance American Art Association, 23-24 November 1923, part of lot 251, purchased by The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, acc. no. 23.270.1, deaccesioned to Denver Art Museum, 1953 The visor is of an early form, transitional between the 'sparrow's beak' and 'bellows' types.
A FINE GERMAN SAPPER'S BURGONET OF SHOT-PROOF WEIGHT, LATE 16TH CENTURY with rounded one-piece skull rising to a notably high, file-roped medial comb, projecting forward to a flat obtusely-pointed integral peak and backwards and downwards at its rear to a short obtusely-pointed neck-guard, and fitted at each side with a later hinged cheek-piece flanged outwards at its lower end to serve as a continuation of the neck-guard and pierced at its centre with five small auditory holes in dice-formation, the rear of the peak pierced with a circular hole to accommodate a later curved nasal-bar of circular section terminating at its upper end in a pointed hexagonal finial with a moulded base, and retained by a sturdy hasp and wing-headed screw, the edges of the peak and neck-guard formed with finely file-roped inward turns and the surfaces of all parts of the helmet retaining a black finish (refreshed with paint) 30.5 cm; 12 in The nasal-bar and cheek-pieces appear to represent working-life modifications.
A GERMAN ZISCHÄGGE, MID 17TH CENTURY with hemispherical one-piece skull embossed with four radiating ribs, fitted at its apex with a pierced finial and circular washer, and at its brow with a flat ogival peak, pierced at the rear with a rectangular hole to accommodate a sliding nasal-bar, secured at the brow by a rectangular staple and locking-screw, and struck at its point with an indistinct mark (the right end cracked, the centre pierced with a pair of later suspension-holes), at its nape with a broad ogival neck-guard of three upward-overlapping lames and its sides with pendant cheek-pieces (the left detached) of sub-triangular form each with a semi-circular notch at the top of its front edge, the main edges of the helmet decorated throughout with plain inward turns (the surface showing light patches of pitting and minor denting) 21.6 cm; 8 in high

**A MINIATURE CLOSE HELMET OF SO-CALLED 'SAVOYARD' TYPE, POSSIBLY EARLY 17TH CENTURY NORTH ITALIAN with rounded skull joined medially by a overlapped and riveted join enclosed to either side by an incised line, fitted at the nape with a tapering tubular plume-holder decorated with diagonal incised lines between its moulded upper and lower ends, at its flanged lower edge with a rounded one-piece rear gorget-plate, and at it front with a peak, upper bevor and lower bevor attached by common pivots with radially-fluted domed heads, the peak projecting forward to an obtuse point, the upper bevor cut at its upper edge with semi-circular apertures for the eyes and at its lower end, beneath an embossed nose, with a lozenge-shaped aperture for the mouth, and the lower bevor flanged outwards at its lower edge to receive a rounded front gorget-plate en suite with the rear one, the main edges of the helmet formed with plain inward turns accompanied by large round-headed rivets, the skull retaining a crimson velvet lining (now detached) and the whole an overall blackened finish 8.0 cm; 3 ? in high
