Watercolour of Lancers In Egypt Conflictshowing a mounted Officer in tropical uniform and pith helmet with sword held aloft. Behind him is his troop of mounted Lancers. Written to the base "Egypt. Major Scott + A Squadron" signed "W B 1895". Contained in its gilt, glazed frame. Approx 14 x 12 inches.

1938 Dated Messenger's Steel Helmet and Carrierblack painted outer shell with white "M" to the front and rear with traces of covered, earlier transfer. Black treated linen liner with early pattern, oval rubber crown pad. The frame with maker dated 1938. Sprung webbing chinstrap. Complete with khaki drill helmet rim carrier, fitted with a khaki drill shoulder strap. Minor edge wear.

A good old cast iron copy of a late 16th century close helmet, with two piece hinged vizor, finely embossed overall with classical battle scenes, arms and armour, winged angels, Neptune, cherubs, etc, the gorget with leaves and tendrils, serpents, and birds. GC (crack in one lame of the gorget). Plate 1 £300-400
A late 17th century private purchase plug bayonet, slightly curved single edged blade 11½” with false edge for the lower 6", and bearing 3 copper inlaid flaming comet marks of John Hathaway (granted September 1689), brass mounted hilt with helmet head finials to quillons and pommel, and with dark wood grip. Good Condition (small hole drilled through blade, probably for mounting on a display). Plate 6 £800-1200
An officer’s high quality silver mounted plug bayonet, c 1700, broad tapered double edged blade 11½” struck on both sides with full face King’s head mark, the silver mounted hilt having helmet head finials to the quillons and pommel, and with plain ivory grip, in its silver mounted brown leather sheath with single suspension ring, the crosspiece and chape bearing “NR” silver smith’s mark. Good Condition, (sheath slightly creased, age splits to ivory grip). This bayonet is virtually identical to figure 50 in “The Plug Bayonet” by Evans. Plate 6 £1000-1500

A silvered spelter figure of a standing knight in 16th century style full armour, the base marked “Depose Italy 110”, on a marbled plinth, height overall 14" GC; a similar figure of a medieval mounted knight in jousting armour, with lance and shield, mounted on marbled base, height 10" excluding lance, basically GC (crest broken from helmet, the lance probably a replacement); and a pressed tin standing suit of armour on wood effect plaster base, height 14" overall, basically GC (one lower arm and both gauntlets missing). A PAIR OF LARGE PAINTED POTTERY FIGURES OF LOKAPALASTang DynastyEach guardian figure modelled standing, with one arm raised to hold a spear, the other hand resting on the hip, wearing a finely-detailed full armour with breast plates and epaulettes at each shoulder, their faces painted red and well modelled with individual expressions, wearing an elaborate helmet capped by a triangular finial, traces of coloured pigments remaining, wood stands.The larger 63cm (24 7/8in) high.
