Prussian Foot Artillery Pickelhaube Helmet Complete with Original Trench Cover, being a model 1887 enlisted ranks pickelhaube with all matching brass fittings, excellent skull, no extra holes. To the inner rear peak there are many markings, which include Foot Artillery Regiment 27, various dates and battery markings. Accompanying the helmet is its field cover with again prolific markings including one name label, various dates of ‘1898, 1902’, regimental markings Foot Artillery 81, plus the label to ‘Kannonier Murff’ whilst a member of Foot Artillery 8.

Prussian Jager zu Pferde Enlisted Mans Helmet Complete with its Original Field Cover, excellent blued skull without any rust or indentations, all chemically treated grey metal fittings to the helmet, complete with its correct large size Kuirassier national and state cockades, original leather strap. Interior leather liner all complete, wear use obvious, complete with original maker’s metal label attached to the upper inner crown. Skull stamped size ‘56’. It’s original field cover is maker marked and dated ‘1916’. Featured on page 152 of Feldzug 15.

Hessian Artillery Regiment 61 Enlisted Mans Pickelhaube with Trench Cover, this is a magnificent time capsule helmet with its original cover which will not be removed by this house as in places the cover is adhered to the shellac covering of the leather body. Marked into the rear peak ‘RB18’ being the Hessian clothing depot number, also regimentally marked ‘F.A.R.61’ dated ‘1916’. The chinstrap is in the, as worn, hanging down condition and unusually the helmet is fitted with twin Hessian cockades, no extra holes, The interior liner all complete with maker’s oval stamp with central ‘1916’ date. Featured on pages 56, 57, 58 and 59 of Feldzug 16.

Prussian Infantry Regiment 74 Pickelhaube with Regimentally Marked Trench Cover, enlisted mans all leather pickelhaube in excellent condition, all matching brass fittings with the Waterloo scroll across the front of the Prussian plate. The helmet is with its national and state cockades, no extra holes, The interior liner is absolutely complete with original drawstring, marked into the back peak ‘J.R.74’ also rubber ink stamped ‘B.A.X.1916’, fitted with a Landwehr cover marked ‘L74’. The field cover is maker marked and dated ‘1915’ and stamped size ‘57’. Rare matching set. Featured fully on page 46, 47, 48 and 49 of Feldzug 15.

Saxon One Year Volunteer Pickelhaube with Original Trench Cover, an absolutely mint condition Saxon one year volunteer all leather bodied pickelhaube, all gilded fittings excellent with frosted nickel Saxon overlaid plate. Standard Saxon style state and national cockades. The interior leather sweatband is perfect with inner silk lining. Pencil sized ‘55’ mark to the inner skull. Complete with original enlisted ranks style helmet cover with regimental number ‘106’ in red felt to the front. Featured on page 48 of Feldzug 14.

Bavarian 2nd Infantry Regiment Other Ranks Pickelhaube Complete with Original Trench Cover, a good size 57 all leather pickelhaube, skull excellent, complete with its Bavarian front plate, all matching fittings, national and state cockades. The interior liner all complete with faint maker’s mark and date ‘15’. Original owner’s name hand applied to the inner rear peak. Complete with a Bavarian 2nd Infantry Regiment enlisted ranks helmet cover with the remains of the number ‘2’ in felt to the front. To the interior the cover is maker marked and dated ‘1915’, no extra holes, Also to the inside cover there is an inscription in French which would appear to be details of its capture in 1918. Ersatz Prussian Other Ranks Pickelhaube Complete with Original Trench Cover, an excellent condition one-piece all tin enlisted ranks pickelhaube with Prussian front plate, original chinstrap, correct state and national cockades. The leather liner is complete, felt lined inner skull with its totally original field cover, which has moulded itself in the form of the helmet. The cover has the remains of the stamped regimental number of Oldenburg Reserve Infantry Regiment 91. The strap is still in the hanging position as taken from the battlefield. Featured on page 136, 137, 138, 139 of Feldzug 14.

Good cut out crown front plate, complete with its original chinstrap still in the hanging position as taken from the battlefield. Complete with its correct enlisted ranks state and national cockades, no extra holes, Original enlisted ranks field cover, which has a felt number ‘5’ affixed. Maker marked and size stamped ‘57’. The interior liner is all complete, accompanying the helmet are two photographs of a 5th Bavarian soldier wearing an identical helmet. Featured on page 56, 57, 58, 59 of Feldzug 15.

Prussian Other Ranks Cork Bodied Cotton Drill Covered Pickelhaube Helmet, complete with Prussian state helmet plate, all brass spike and spike base, original chinstrap still in the hanging position as brought back from battlefield. Various names hand applied to the interior, leather liner complete. Excellent description in Feldzug 15 on page 90 and 91.

Prussian Garde (Guard) Uhlan Helmet, superb condition all leather body Guard Uhlan enlisted ranks helmet, complete with its metal non-removable mortarboard top, original chinstrap, all fittings in chemically treated field grey, complete with its black and white cloth covering over wood cockade with its standard red, white and black state cockade. To the interior the light tan leather liner is all complete with its original drawstring, stamped size ‘53½’ to the interior with maker’s stamp and date ‘1916’. The front Guard plate has its Guard Star missing, many helmets were issued without this Guard Star at this stage of the conflict, no extra holes. Featured on page 184 of Feldzug 15.

Interior leather liner absolutely complete in virtually unworn condition, complete with its original manufacturer’s paper label, no extra holes, stamped size ‘56’. British Machine Gunners War Souvenirs Grouping, a wonderful group of souvenirs consisting of a other ranks pickelhaube helmet cover marked B.A.IV, still with the mud from the trench on it, other manufacturer’s markings are indistinct. Two field grey tunic shoulder boards for regiments 170 and 119, one artillery fuse key, a leather Artillery lanyard pull, a German combat belt with Imperial German buttons attached (some missing), 3 WWI Wurttemberg brass enlisted ranks belt buckles all with leather tabs attached and 1 early pattern 1870 belt buckle with leather tab attached clearly stamped to Regiment 125. This interesting group featured on pages 96, 97, 98, 99, 100 and 101 of Feldzug 16, unfortunately the original box it was found in has been mislaid and is now packed in a British WW11 gas mask cardboard box.

Prussian Reserve Regiment 201 Grouping, consisting of and original other ranks pickelhaube helmet cover, bayonet troddle (knot) and Prussian helmet plate which has suffered from battle damaged. Hooks missing from the cover, round penetration hole through front cover and the original bullet ball round which penetrated the helmet plate remains with the group.

M.16 Steel Combat Helmet, an untouched plain apple green model 1916 helmet of large size, shell marked ‘ET66’. Virtually all apple green finish paint remaining to skull. 3 pad liner complete with all its inner pads and leather liner band, which is also Wurttenberg 13th Korps marked and the date ‘16’. Chinstrap complete but slightly loose, at one end it is adrift from the buckle. The initials ‘PBW’ painted to the upper inner crown. In-depth research on page 80, 81, 82 and 83 of Feldzug 16.

M.18 Steel Combat Helmet, excellent condition skull marked ‘TJ66’, the skull retaining virtually all of its apple green finish, standard metal liner band with the 3 pad liner intact, one pad having both tongues, another pad having one tongue, third pad no tongue. Partial remains of the chinstrap.

M.18 Steel Trench Combat Helmet, excellent skull retaining much original apple green finish, shell marked shape of the letter ‘L’ size ‘64’. The M.18 steel banded liner has the three inner leather pads still fitted, complete with their tongues with two of the three inner horsehair pads loose inside the helmet.

M.17 Camouflage Steel Combat Helmet, this unusual camouflage pattern, shell size marked ‘SI 66’, two of the original three light cream pads remain to the helmet, one with its inner horsehair pad and the remains of the drawstring. Featured on page 172 of Feldzug 17.

M.16 Camouflaged Battle Damaged Steel Combat Helmet, superb camouflage finish in plum, ochre and green without black separation lines. Three padded liner all complete with its inner horsehair pads and its strong leather chinstrap. To the side of the shell is a crack which was probably caused by a shell splinter, resulting in a small triangular section of the shell to be missing. Featured on page 46 of Feldzug 17.

M.16 Steel Combat Helmet with Trench Made Linen Cover, excellent shell marked ‘68’. The cover has never been taken off this helmet, therefore it is impossible to describe the amount of paint finish remaining to the exterior skull. Complete with its leather M.16 liner band, complete set of three pad liners with their inner horsehair pads and original drawstring. Lightweight linen cover. Cover constructed from some form of linen bag. This helmet was original discovered by Michael Baldwin in a U.S. antique shop for $50 in the early 1970’s now a unique item. Featured on page 174 of Feldzug 16.

Battle Damaged M.17 Steel Combat Helmet, shell marked ‘SI 63’ retaining much original apple green finish, the shell peppered with shrapnel and ammunition round holes, complete with its original chinstrap, which is frail and two only of its inner horsehair pads. Featured on page 158 of Feldzug 17.

A Pre-Mass Production Square Dip M.16 Helmet, probably one of the rarest models of the various variations of the M.16 steel helmet, this is in ground dug condition example. Featured on page 196 of Feldzug 16.

Rare Early Version M.16 Steel Combat Helmet, marked ‘S60’. Virtually all of the apple green finish remaining, complete with its three inner leather pads, two of which retain their inner horsehair pads and the leather drawstring plus the strong leather chinstrap. The side profile of the helmet is very similar to the pre production square dip. Featured on page 112 and 113 of Feldzug 16.

Very Rare Army Group Gaede Helmet, a semi ground dug example of the ultra rare army group Gaede helmet, these rare experimental helmets preceded the M.16 steel helmet. A small quantity of helmets in this condition were found in the Vosges Mountains of France some years ago. Mounted on a specifically produced head with a custom made replication of the inside lining of a Gaede helmet to the head for display purposes. Featured on page 72, 73, 74 and 75 of Feldzug 15.

M.16 Steel Helmet with Original Snipers / Machine Gunners Brow Plate, a possibly unique M.16 trench helmet with its original brow plate still fitted. Shell stamped ET61 retaining much original apple green finish. The armoured brow plate, which has part of its original strap fitted, plate is stamped ‘114’. The helmet inner shell having its leather liner band, all three cushion pads with inner horse hair pads present and its original leather drawstring. Virtually all of the chin strap remaining but adrift from the opposite post. Featured on page 148 of Feldzug 16.

Generally good condition, slight crazing to shellac covering, complete with all brass fittings, which have dulled overall. Baden Reserve Regiment 109th Enlisted Mans Pickelhaube, a superb and rare helmet taken as a trophy, still with strap hanging loose. All leather skull, white metal fittings, large Baden griffin plate with the 109th Regiment star overlay with a Reserve Cross overlaid to the star, without the scroll at the bottom of the plate as per Reserve Regiments. Complete with original national and Baden cockades . All leather liner to the interior complete with drawstring, no extra holes. Rear inner skirt marked ‘Baden Reserve Regiment 109’ to the opposite side of the peak is a date, which appears to be ‘1906’. Extremely rare helmet.

Ersatz Wurttemberg Enlisted Mans Pickelhaube, an all tin bodied pickelhaube for the state of Wurttemberg, some light crazing to the black painted finish, complete with all brass fittings including brass Wurttemberg helmet plate, original brown chinstrap fitted complete with standard national and state cockades. The interior liner shows wear and is slightly parted from the main band at the forehead but is all complete and slightly creased, no extra holes.

Wurttemberg Enlisted Mans Pickelhaube. With grey metal fittings. A huge size leather helmet, beautiful skull, no crazing, original chinstrap, complete with correct state and national cockades. The interior is very close to unworn condition, maker marked, original drawstring to the liner, profusely stamped on the back peak ‘G.R.123’ with faint date below, followed by 13th Army Corps markings with size stamp ‘59’. The whole bottom edge of the helmet is trimmed in field grey leather, no extra holes, Profusely stamped to the inside rear of the peak to ‘Infantry Regiment 60’ then further ‘Infantry Regiment 177’. Beautiful condition, slight staining to the canvas covering, chemically finished Sea Battalion eagle with officers bullion cockade, canvas covered chinstraps. Original officers liner and partial drawstring. Size stamped 57½. Shown in profuse detail on page 100 of Feldzug 14 also front cover.

Prussian Dragoon Officers Cork Helmet, manufactured by the Company who mainly made the tropical helmets Ludwig Bortfeldt of Bremen in the form of a Dragoon officers helmet. Exposed brass half round chin scales, tall spike, interior liner all leather with some wear, original silk drawstring complete. The letters ‘BAD’ to the interior plus some stampings to the inner rear peak. No extra holes. Shown on pages 104, 105, 106, 107, also front cover of Feldzug 14.

Scarce Luftwaffe SSK90 Aircrew / Jet Helmet, brown leather covered steel plated helmet complete with its original harness chinstrap. Cloth interior with original Siemens makers label. Some scuffing to the leather and staining to the interior lining but generally still in good condition. These helmets were used by Luftwaffe gliders, aircrew and also by the Jet pilots at the end of WW2.

WW2 German Army Double Decal Steel Combat Helmet, fine example of the early M35 steel combat helmet which retains much of its original combat paint finish to the exterior and interior of the shell. Helmet is complete with its original army eagle decal and the original national tri-colour decal. Helmet is complete with its original leather liner and leather chinstrap. Painted to the interior shell is the name of the original owner, “h. Rattenberger”. Shell is stamped “Q64” and the batch number is obscured by the painted name of the owner. Inked stamp to the inside of the shell. Good untouched example.

WW2 German Army Double Decal Battle Damaged Steel Combat Helmet, superb untouched example of an early Model 35 steel combat helmet with both army and tri-colour decals. Helmet also is complete with much of its original apple green paint finish to the shell. The helmet shell has multiple penetrations from both bullets and shrapnel etc. These impacts have greatly affected the leather liner to the interior which in a number of places the liner band has penetrated the leather liner. Shell is stamped “3891” and “ET62”. A truly fantastic battle damaged combat helmet.

WW2 German Army Normandy Camouflaged Steel Combat Helmet, Model 1940 steel helmet with remains of the original German army decal to the side. Helmet shell has a smooth camouflage paint finish in light green, brown and tan colours, the pattern which is associated with the German forces stationed in France and especially Normandy. Helmet is complete with the original leather liner system to the interior. Shell is stamped “SE62” and “1334”. Some inked details to the leather liner but these are not clear. Good untouched example.
