Rare 19th century Minton turquoise glaze majolica 'The Reader' flower holder, after Albert Carrier-Belleuse, modeled as a maiden in classical drapery reading whilst leaning against the pillar back of the helmet shaped cistern detailed with a caryatid and floral swags, the whole upon an oval plinth with Greek key border, with impressed marks beneath, H44cmCondition Report: General wear commensurate with age and use, including some crazing to the glaze and discolouration, and some deeper cracks to the glaze.Small loss to edge of cistern.

Fine Deluxe Pattern Imperial German Naval Officers Blue, Gilt and Damascus Dirk, fine example produced by WKC, with gilt metal Imperial crown pommel and ivory grip having two bands of wire. Gilt metal cross guard having anchor to the centre cartouche, no release button to the cross guard. Attached to the grip is an original officers silver bullion wire dress portepee. Gilt brass scabbard with ornate roped scabbard ring bands, one side engraved with initials of the previous owner and the other side with an engraved anchor. The blade is of superior quality with fine Damascus pattern and blue and gilt decoration to three quarters. Blade decorated to one side with Imperial crowned trophy of arms, sailing ship and standard trophy of arms above. Reverse side of the blade etched with sailing ship, foliage and dedication in ribbon ‘FESTEN MUTH’S IN STURM UND GEFAHR’ (Firm Courage in Storm and Danger). Blade with small WKC knights helmet trade mark to the base. Overall the dirk is in good condition with nearly all of the blue and gilt finish remaining to the blade. The scabbard has some light wear and small dents with one screw missing to the throat. Blade 37 ¼ cms, overall 52 ½ cms. Ivory exemption declaration JVG9LJWW. 1930’s German Fire Brigade Officers Dress Dagger, Presentation Axe and Bayonet Knot, fine example of the Fire service officials dress dagger worn during the 1930’s period and into the Third Reich era. White metal cross guard with helmet and crossed fire axes to the central cartouche, black leather covered grip with wire binding, plated top pommel. Housed in its leather scabbard with white metal mounts. Fine double edged blade with etched decoration to both sides and early Carl Eickhorn makers trademark. Blade 33 ½ cms, overall 49cms. Leather and bullion wire fire service knot / porteppe in worn condition. German fire brigade axe with the steel axe head having engraved presentation, ‘Anläfslich 20 jähriges tadellosen Dienstzeit’ (On the occasion of 20 years of impeccable service), with wooden haft and nickel silver lower fitting. Complete with the leather cradle holder and hanging strap. Interesting grouping to a fire fighter from the Third Reich period. (3 items)
