A finely executed modern miniature of a Japanese helmet, kabuto, the skull formed of black lacquered ribbed panels decorated with conical studs and decorated with gilt panels embossed with chrysanthemums and foliage, and with gilt dragon crest and two large gilt "wings", the neck guard and side wings of traditional lacquer and cord construction, with tasselled silk securing cord, in its black lacquered wood storage box with 6 legs, gilt mounts and mauve cords. VGC, with a wooden display stand, approximate width of helmet 15".
A George III silver helmet cream jug, maker's mark 'B.M' (not traced), London 1785 (incuse duty mark), with a moulded high clip handle, a moulded rim and on a square base, engraved with a crest and a motto 'Vivat Veritas', 15cm (5.75in) high, 112g (3.5 oz).
