A First World War Prussian Pickelhaube with pointed spike finial dated 1916 CONDITION REPORTS Is in generally poor condition, is slightly mis-shapen, the main front badge is slightly lifted on one side, very dirty, the top spike shows signs rusting, all metalwork has rubbing, scratching and discolouration throughout, leather strap which runs round the back of the helmet is looking very cracked and dry throughout and has broken away from the helmet on one side, the side decorations have been chipped throughout (see photos) and are missing a lot of the original paintwork, metalwork around the front of the helmet is very mis-shapen, silver has come off, is very dull in colour, has two splits on front of metalwork, inside the pull in strap has gone nearly altogether. Is in need of overall sympathetic restoration.
