German Naval (Kriegsmarine) Shore Establishment Camouflaged Steel Combat Helmet, being a M-40 pattern shell with original Naval golden eagle decal. The exterior of the shell has been painted in a battleship grey finish which is typical of shore establishment helmets and also those who served on armed ships. Interior of the helmet retains the original leather liner. Some surface pitting to the interior of the helmet. Shell is stamped “Q64” but the batch number is not clear. Leather liner is dry and has flaked in places

WW2 German Fire Brigade Helmet, good example of the civilian pattern helmet retaining much of its original black paint finish to the exterior and interior of the shell. Comb fitted to the top of the helmet. One side with national tri-colour. Complete with civilian pattern liner to the interior and top pad. Some areas of light surface rusting but otherwise a good example.
WW2 German Luftschutz Gladiator Steel Helmet, good example of a single piece gladiator pattern helmet which retains much of the original blue paint finish to the exterior and interior. Front of the helmet has Luftschutz winged decal. Interior with late war pattern liner system and two piece leather chinstrap.
WW2 German Luftschtz Beaded Combat Helmet, good example of a M-35 pattern steel combat helmet with beaded centre, retaining much of the original dark blue paint finish to the exterior and interior of the shell. Luftschutz winged decal to the centre of the helmet. Remains of white paint to the central bead. Interior has brown leather liner system and leather chinstrap. Shell is stamped “Q64” and “3272”.
Royal Air Force C-Type Flying Helmet Ensemble of Flight Lieutenant W (Wally) Walters D.F.C, untouched example of a brown leather 1st pattern C-Type flying helmet complete with leather chinstrap. Helmet is complete with its original wiring loom and headphones. Jack plug attached to the wiring loom. Helmet is complete with an original G-Type oxygen mask which is complete with mic and original rubber hose with clip to end. Copper wire to the nose section of the oxygen mask. Set is also complete with a pair of RAF Mk VII flying goggles which retain much of the original blue paint finish to the exterior. Stamped to the centre of the goggles with crowned AM and “22C/826 1858”. Goggles also complete with the original strap. The set has been mounted to a polystyrene display head for a long time which has resulted in the helmet almost becoming moulded in this form. This set was acquired by the current vendor from the original owner of the set, Flight Lieutenant W (Wally) Walters DFC, who served in the RAF from 31st April 1941 until 13th May 1946. He served in the following units, 31 ANS, 9 AFU, 15 OTU, 428 Squadron, 82 OTU, 1655 MTU, 163 Squadron, 571 Squadron and 1383 TCU. Good untouched set.
Victorian Middlesex Regiment Officers Home Service Pattern Helmet Plate, being a standard officers helmet plate with silvered regimental badge to the centre of black velvet backing and three part scroll with regimental details. Plate has three lug fittings to the reverse. Helmet plate has been re-gilded at some point.

Ayrton Senna's Australian Grand Prix 1993 Nacional baseball cap,gifted to Alan Read personally by Ayrton Senna at the Australian Grand Prix post race barbecue. This cap was worn by Senna on the podium (underneath the winner's cap) and at the at the post-race press conferences. This was to be Senna's 41st and final win in Formula 1 before his tragic death months later at Imola 1994. Sold together with an Adelaide GP pin badge, a pin badge of Senna's helmet, a 1993 Australian GP marshal pass with accompanying embroidered patch, an invitation to the post race barbecue (where the cap was gifted by Senna to Read), a photograph of Senna, Mansilla and Toledane, and a typed signed statement of authenticity. (8)Footnotes:Alan Read (1947-2017) was a marshal in F1 long before Senna's arrival into the sport in the UK and he would frequently marshal Formula 3 and Formula 1 races around the UK as well as at the Australian Grand Prix for over a decade. A Herbert Johnson racing helmet formerly the property of G L Harbin, 1950s,size 38, composite, finished light blue, with cloth neck guard with leather straps, worn, together with a leather and Perspex peak-fitted visor. Footnotes:According to information supplied by the vendor, G L Harbin and his wife Christine were regular drivers at Goodwood and other post-War circuits in the UK, and they counted among their friends such driving greats as Mike Hawthorn and Stirling Moss.
