Post Medieval Bronze Heraldic Seal Matrix Group18th century AD. A mixed group of bronze seal matrices comprising: one with elliptical head and pierced lozenge stem, the design an armorial bearing with elliptical shield charged with fess and estoile, facing helmet with crest of male torso, initials `IST` flanking; one square in plan, a ducal crown with draped mantle framing a shield with lion supporters, the shield quartered, two with bends and two with chevrons and pellets; supplied with ceramic impressions 21 grams total, 24-25 mm (1"). The goddess, half nude with a himàtion which falls on his legs, holds the arms of Mars: on his left is his helmet and on the right hand the spear; shield at her feet.

In the field to the right is the Greek legend EOC, probably connected to the recipient or the engraver. The subject linked with the gens Iulia, considering itself descendant of Aeneas son of Venus. It becomes very common from the Augustan age, period from which is expecially depicted in three quarter back view.

The satyr is one of the most frequently represented followers of Dionysus. Chip on the lower left edge.Male figure with helmet Colorless translucent glass (imitation of hyaline quartz or rock crystal), mm 14x10x3. Form 15. Clothed bust of a bearded male figure with thick curly hair, frontally placed, characterized by a cap or pileus identifiable with a Corinthian helmet with a raised brow. The iconography recalls Ulysses of the group of Polyphemus of the villa of Tiberius in Sperlonga. She-wolf suckling Romulus and Remus Dark purple opaque glass (imitation of amethyst), mm 10x9x3. Form 2. The she-wolf standing to left turns the head, suckling Romulus and Remus. The theme recurs in the founding myths of various cities with the meaning of Romanitas, but gradually other meanings have emerged. Among these the allusion to mother affection and to the golden age. Chip around the upper left edge.

This stater is an unique specimen, in fact, we don’t known other examples with both the same orientation of Athena’s head and Pegasos but also with this position of legend and of triskeles. The coins, also, falls int he first phase of production of staters by Agathokles because the weight is among 8,2 and 8,5 g, following still the Corinthian system. About the 305 BC, instead, we notice a reduction of the weight of staters at c. 7 g.
