Brass skull has an embossed laurel wreath centre & rear spine band, with the multi-piece helmet plate with “1” centred within a garter bearing the motto “HONI.SOIT.QUI.MAL.Y.PENSE” over a white metal-rayed star backing plate. The rose-shaped chin strap bosses support a graduated brass ring & leather backed chin scale. The quatrefoil plume spike bears a thin white horse hair plume surmounted by a rose boss. Interior shows a leather liner, with all tabs present, generally only service worn, with screw & nut attachment, with worn green leather underside of front visor. Very good condition for age and very presentable piece, with light dimpling to body.

Nickel skull has an embossed laurel wreath centre & rear spine band, with the multi-piece helmet plate with silver and gilt plated helmet badge which sports a Queen’s Crown, a silver 8-pointed Guards star with the cross of St. George and garter containing the famous motto: "Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense". The rose-shaped chin strap bosses support a graduated brass ring & leather backed chin scale. The quatrefoil plume spike bears a guard star base, with full black horse hair plume surmounted by a rose boss. Interior shows a full service worn leather liner, all tabs present, with screw & nut attachment & leather to underside of front visor. 1902 – 1918 era 1878 pattern British Army officer’s blue cloth ‘Home Service’ helmet to the South Staffordshire Regiment by J & B Pearse & Co. London. Blue cloth felt covered cork bodied helmet with gilded brass fittings, very good, toned King’s Crown, multi piece gilt brass helmet plate with white metal regimental scroll & central sphinx to centre. Screw on toned spike fitting to the top of the helmet spike base, with rose side bosses & full chinstrap. Original leather sweatband with beige cotton backing to the interior, with maker rosette to underside of internal studded spike base. Very good or better condition overall.

Model 1935 steel helmet, with single Heer decal (90% present) to left side, with good dark filed grey coloured finish to body, with only light wear. Retains leather liner with all fingers present, showing good honest service, with leather chinstrap, maker stamped OTTO MULLER 1942, with original chord. Steel shell maker stamped EF62 (Emaillerwerke A.G. Fulda) and rear skirt number period painted over. This is a good mid-war refinished helmet.

Model 1938 steel helmet, with the standard pre war toned dark green finish with single Luftwaffe decal (85% present), to left side, with some light wear and scratches. Early non vented slot bolts (4), being good and tight, with some associated oxidation spots to shell. Retains service leather liner with all leatherwork present, showing good honest service use, being ink stamped sized 59 and maker marked SZf (ink stamps worn to maker). Aluminium band frame, with dark grey padding material all present. Leather chinstrap assembly complete, with wartime style buckle. Steel shell maker stamped ET71 (Eisenhüttenwerke, A.G Thale) and 1.. to rear skirt (number stamps faint from re-issue paintwork). Very good desirable large size re-issue wartime helmet.

Features black plastic or Bakelite 2-piece body with metal slit rivets, adjustable canvas chin strap marked AEAG, internal liner complete and item in unissued condition. No makers mark, but typical Cromwell style, this type being used by electricians instead of the more dangerous metal protective headgear.

WW2 Australian/British fighter pilot type C leather flying helmet with training gosport speaking tube.Features supple leather with suede chamois interior in excellent condition with virtually all of the original finish and very light wear. All straps are excellent and retain the original coatings on the press studs. The lining is spotless clean indicating only light use. The chinstrap retains the light blue colour and has elasticity. The ear receivers are hollow and connected to a brass speaking tube.

Wide chin-strap with engraved scales, the last with a mask, lateral lion's heads. Visor lacquered in green inside. Leather cap with golden decorations. Leather chin-strap. Well visible signs of use inside, small damages and parts missing. The rest in good conditions. Rare and beautiful helmet. height 36 cm.

dating: First Empire provenance: France, Straight, undulated double-edged blade, first part of hexagonal section, engraved and gilded with pandur, trophies and floral motifs on a blue ground until the foible. Extraordinary, gilded brass hilt, iron shell-guard with gilded brass mounts, a medallion in the center, with order of legione d'honneur on a mother-of-pearl ground, framed with laurel branches, upper part with two lion's heads with a snake in the jaws; guard with emperor and warrior busts among spiral, beaded and grooved bands, pommel shaped as lion's head, finely chiselled and decorated with foliage at the base; wooden grip, covered with mother-of-pearl grip scales, a gilded brass lozenge with emperor's bust on a copper ground on the right side, monogram 'FG' on the opposite, lateral medallion with a turreted lion's head (city of Lyon) among the foliage decorations in bass-relief. Complete with leather scabbard with gilded brass mounts (slightly abraded), engraved with floral and geometrical motifs, hook with a helmet. length 95 cm.

dating: Late 16th Century provenance: Brescia, Wooden body, shaped as a truncated cone but flat on the back. Front surface covered with leather, richly adorned in bass-relief, divided in three, decorative lists: the central with one shield surmounted by a knightly helmet with crest with a rampant lion, the two lateral lists with vine branches. The three lists surrounded by frames, in relief. Borders reinforced with iron band, held by the nails. Back and ground with parts of the leather missing. Iron belt hook. Almost cylindrical fuse, in iron, with external spring latch. height 21 cm.

Fuse with octagonal, pilaster-shaped neck, with moulded decorations, no latch. Upper part covered with a thick, brass band, engraved and with festooned border, with a fine mask at the two ends, with a lug. Lower part covered with a similar frame, festooned, pierced and engraved with lilies so as the upper one and featuring masks on sides, no lug. A thick, brass plate in the center, featuring a heraldic emblem, surmounted by a knight's helmet. Malta Cross and three lilies above on the shield. An iron belt hook on the back. height 20 cm.

Silver hilt, quillon block with St. George with dragon in relief on the right side and floral motifs on the other. Pierced quillons. Pommel with plumed helmet. Wooden grip with mother-of-pearl grip scales, the front one with a trophy, a medallion in the center with plaque of the order of St. George in blue and red enamels. Complete with wooden scabbard, lacquered in white, with silver mounts, decorated with floral motifs. Two suspension rings. Very scarce. In patina. length 80 cm.

Iron hilt with six pas d'ane rings, two shell-guards on the lower one, finely chiselled and pierced with a face in high-relief among floral motifs. 'S'-quillons, loop-guard with two support arms. Big pommel, majestically chiselled with two warrior faces with helmet among engraved floral decorations. Wooden grip, covered with iron wire binding and moor's heads. Rare, perfectly balanced sword. length 127.5 cm.

This remarkable and graphically strong poster shows the most famous resident of Tongeren, namely the imposing bronze statue of Eburonenkoning Ambiorix from 1866 on the Tongeren Grote Markt, which honors the memorable victory over the Romans in 54 BC. Caesar the Belgians the bravest of all Gauls. Ambiorix poses in Germanic costume, with a battle ax and a dragon helmet. The icon is set in a pop art style of bold purple and olive green tones. Condition: Very good condition, minor stains at edges. Country of printing: Belgium, designer: M. Mathieu, size (cm): 80.5x60, year of printing: 1950s.

Generally good condition, worn overall, a little damage. Following James II’s expansion of the Army all weapons, armour and munitions, including items made much earlier, were ordered to bear this mark.
