dating: Late 16th Century provenance: Northern Italy, Ogival skull worked in one piece, ribbed at the centre, the top worked in a separate element, fixed by a plaque from the inside. Cusped brim and nape-guard, with swallowtailed edge, roped and twisted border. With a row of rivets featuring thick rosettes at the base of the skull. Plume-holder at the back. Complete with its movable cheeks with rosette-shaped open-work. Provided with the rare buffe with neckguard plate, beaver and two foldaway ventail plates, the upper one with a raised band (slightly deformed) and eye-slots. The dorsal border roped en suite with the helmet. In antique patina, probably with remains of the original black dye. A very interesting item. It is extremely difficult to find this type of helmet complete with its original buffe. height circa 39 cm.

dating: First half of the 20th Century provenance: Rome, Beautiful helmet covered with black fur, a crowned Savoy eagle on the opposite side, red-and-white painted cross on a Savoy knot. Gilt-brass comb with lion's head and badge with fasces above a star. Complete with chin-strap, cockade and heron feather aigrette. Original, leather and white silk lining, both with the gold stamp of Ugo Puri, Rome. The jacket with all effects and Major's epaulettes, made of black fabric with collar (signs of use and time) richly embroidered with threads. Ribbons on the front part, label of the tailors Molinari and Leoni of Rome inside, with the owner's name 'Marini'. Complete with weathervane with cartridge box. Together with black trousers with burgundy cloth bands. An interesting Major's ensemble of the future police general Marini, only the division of Rome was provided with this rare helmet. height helmet 24 cm.
dating: 1848 provenance: Grand Duchy of Tuscany, Boiled-leather helmet with brass mounts, front frieze with the inscription 'Leopoldo II', tricolour metal cockade, complete with black horsehair, brown leather sweat-band inside. Epaulettes with gilded plates and fringes made of gilded threads. Including a gold medal 'Guerra dell'Indipendenza Italiana 1848', another similar bronze medal, a medal with the effigy of Carlo Alberto and Pius IX, all with their tricolour ribbon. The Tuscan Civic Guard was established in 1847 by Grand Duke Leopold II on the model of the Roman one. During the First War of Independence, a battalion of the Civic Guard, together with volunteers and members of the regular army, took part in the well-known battle of Curtatone and Montanara against the Austrian army. The medals presented here refer to this episode. height 36 cm.

Cuirassed chin-strap with brass plates. Tricolour, cloth cockade. A grenade with Savoy cross featuring a plume bearing a heron's feather aigrette on the left side. Leather sweat-band inside and white silk cap with gold stamp 'Cav. F. Sardi & Figlio C. Stupinigi 157 bis - int. 6 Torino'. Together with a cylindrical, silver-plated metal tube to host the aigrette, engraved with the dedication 'Gli Ufficiali del Comando Truppe al Deposito Nizza Cavalleria al Loro Colonnello Comandante Torino 17-4-1943 XXI°'. A lid with coat of arms of the Nice Cavalry regiment, on the other lid a grenade. height 30 cm.

Fine brass hilt with cuirass and helmet on shield among pierced floral motifs, the back with small pierced valve, the robust loop-guard and the pommel decorated with floral and geometric motifs. Horn grip (small missing parts) with metal wire binding. Without scabbard. length 107.5 cm.
dating: 1840-60 provenance: Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, Straight blade of hexagonal section, with remains of floral engraving, the inscription 'REAL CORPO DEL GENIO' on one side and the motto 'VIVA IL RE FERDINANDO II' on the other. Brass hilt with double-valved sword-shell, the rear one twisted, the front one with crowned shield on flags surmounted with helmet. Parry quillon with lion's head. Grip with fish-skin covering and brass spiral wire binding. Earlier leather scabbard (damage, repairs and unstitched parts) with brass mounts. Signs of use and time. length 93 cm.

Gilt-bronze hilt with heart-shaped sword-shell, center of crossguard with anchor, guard and quillons decorated with floral motifs and pommel shaped as a plumed helmet. Wooden hilt with metal wire binding. Wooden scabbard covered with rust-coloured velvet (completely lined) with engraved and gilt brass mounts. length 93 cm.

Solid, gilded, brass hilt, shell-guard with warrior's head among winged horses, n the sides of the center of crossguard with with wolves' heads from which quillon and loop-guard come out, both decorated with floral motifs. Pommel shaped as a feathered helmet, solid grip worked as a wire binding. Rare. length 102 cm.

Shell-guard finely decorated with Bourbon fleur-de-lis at the center encircled by the collar of St. Janarius, surmounted by under crown and on anchor, framed by oak leaves and on a finely granulated background. The loop-guard finely carved depicting a coiled halliard, the pommel featuring an antique-style helmet. Grip with four mother-of-pearl plates and gilded-brass staves. Leather scabbard with engraved, gilded-brass mounts. The gilding on the rear part of the cap partly faded due to use. Very rare. length 103.5 cm.
