2nd County of London IY 1871 pattern trooper helmet circa 1902-08. A good example with IY title adopted by the Regiment in 1902. The silvered skull surmounted by a gilt metal crosspiece and plume socket supporting a faded purple red plume with gilt rose boss. Skull ornamented with a laurel wreath above the front peak and an oak leaf band rising from the edge of the neck piece and terminating under the crosspiece at the top. To the front a helmet plate of brass backing star with silvered Garter strap surmounted with a King Crown and brass 2 to the centre. Below the garter, a title strap 2ND COUNTY OF LONDON and below this a brass IY. Gilt rose pattern ear bosses support the 1 inch wide, leather backed, plain burnished chin chain. The interior with leather band, but lining absent. The helmet remains in good original condition. GC.

Complete with crimson silk topped leather sweatband. Tailor details of Hawkes & Co. GC Only one plate has been fitted to the helmet ... Accompanied by a correct pattern transit/storage tin. The regiment were accorded the unique honour of wearing a back badge in commemoration of the distinguished conduct of the 1st Bn. (then 28th Foot) when engaged both to the front and rear in the great Battle before Alexandria on 21st March 1801. This distinction was later confirmed by Horse Guards Order dated 11th May 1830.

Mounted on the lower section of laurels, a gilt scroll UT PROAVI. Three loops. VGC Raised at Enniskillen in 1793 as Fermanagh Militia, redesigned Light Infantry in 1855, became 3rd Bn. Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers on 1st July 1881.

The interior with leather sweatband. Overall GC some dents to skull, minor service and age wear, stitching faults to the chin chain. This pattern of helmet was approved by the regiment in 1896

To each side, a gilt metal rose head boss supports the leather backed chin chain. To the crown, a nickel plume holder supports a white onion shaped horsehair plume with nickel dome button boss. Victorian Sudan / Boer War Royal Artillery Officer White Foreign Service Helmet. A rare and very good example of the pattern commonly been worn during the late Victorian campaigns. This example with six panels, with cotton covered zinc button to the crown, wrapped pagri and retaining fine gilt flaming grenade device to the front. The interior retaining original leather sweatband, with crimson silk edging and complete with a velvet backed chin chain. The helmet retains a very good shape, and is in near VGC.
Queen Own Worcestershire Yeomanry Officer helmet A fine and rare example of the pattern introduced to the Regiment in 1850 and continued to be used until 1871 following the introduction of the busby. The skull, neck and front peak of boiled black enamelled leather, edged with silver plated trim. This trim is repeated to the base of the skull. To the crown a silver plated comb, decorated with six vertical open slits. This is surmounted by a scarlet inside white horse hair plume with a gilt rose-head boss. To the front a helmet plate of gilded metal, Laurel wreath surrounding title circlet inscribed QUEEN OWN REGIMENT surmounted by a Royal Crest and with Lion and Unicorn supporters. Applied gilt VR cypher to the centre on a burnished silver ground. Two part scroll along the base of the wreath inscribed Worcestershire Yeomanry. The helmet retains a pair of lion head bosses which support a silvered interlinked chin chain with velvet backing. The interior retains cotton lining. Slight age wear VGC. This in turn mounted onto a four pointed silvered star, the uppermost displaced by a crown. A tri-part scroll is with motto and to the centre FLH in gilt metal. Two rose head bosses support a silvered interlinked chin chain, with leather backing. A silvered spike supports a white horsehair plume, with silvered rose boss. The interior is with leather lining. Near VGC. The helmet and plume are housed in original steel transit/storage tins. Accompanied by an old luggage label with printed name Hutchison.
Suffolk Yeomanry Cavalry Victorian 1847 (Albert) pattern helmet. A scarce example worn by the regiment 1876-83. Brass skull decorated with floral leaf design. Helmet plate a brass title strap inscribed SUFFOLK YEOMANRY CAVALRY. Entwined VR cypher to centre. Rose head bosses support a leather backed brass chin chain. The plume holder of leaf design supports a white flowing horsehair plume with a rose head boss. Leather lining to the interior. Minor restoration otherwise GC. The regiment gained this title in 1876 and was changed to Loyal Suffolk Hussars in 1885. In 1883 the busby was adopted by the regiment making the Albert pattern obsolete.
Hertfordshire Yeomanry Edwardian / George V Officers Helmet. A rare example of the 1871 pattern helmet, with silvered skull, mounted with brass acanthus leaf decoration. To the front the helmet plate of a brass backing shield, mounted with a silvered regimental stag, this device is surmounted with a crown. Two rose head bosses support an interlinked leather backed chin chain. The crown is with spike supporting a black horsehair plume with silvered rose fitting boss. The interior is with padded material lining. Minor wear near VGC.

The skull decorated to the front, with a helmet plate comprising a silvered backing star with brass motto strap Decus Et Tutamen and to the centre, the County crest of three seaxes surmounted by a King Crown. Below the plate, a silvered scroll inscribed Essex Yeomanry. A brass spike supports the scarlet regimental pattern horsehair plume with rose boss. To each side, rose head bosses support a brass leather-backed chin chain. Complete with silk padded lining to interior. Minor service wear otherwise near VGC.
France. National Guard, Mounted Branch 1814 Model Helmet. A scarce early Restoration Period example with boiled black leather skull, mounted with large crowned Fleur de Lis with palm sprays silvered helmet plate to the front. The crown mounted with a ornate silvered comb, which supports a detachable horsehair crest. Two large silvered bosses again mounted with Fleur de Lis (one replaced) support silvered chin scales. Oak leaf embossed band to the base of the scull, the design repeated base to the helmet plate. Feather plume in tubular holder to one side. Interior with part leather sweatband lining absent. The helmet is in restored condition.
