Luftwaffe Fallschirmjager (Paratroopers) Camouflaged Steel Combat Helmet, which retains approximately 65% of its original green and yellow Normandy style camouflage paint finish to the exterior. Much paint loss to the lower section of the helmet which is very typical of original camouflaged helmets. Original bolt fittings to the shell, some of which retain some of the camouflage paint. Interior of the helmet has the original leather liner and pads. Original leather chinstrap (damaged and small piece missing). Overall a very good example of an original camouflaged German Paratroopers steel combat helmet in untouched condition.

German Afrika Korps (D.A.K) Belt & Buckle Decorated with Souvenirs, being a standard other ranks tropical belt and buckle that has been decorated by a British soldier with souvenirs collected. The webbing belt has been fitted with a brass AK helmet shield decal, Luftwaffe collar patch gull, 4x British officers rank pips, Durham Light Infantry cap badge, silver grade hollow backed General Assault badge, mountain troops metal cap edelweiss, RAD aluminium cap insignia, Royal West Kent regiment cap badge and Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry cap badge. The German army buckle retains much of its original green tropical paint finish. These belts are often referred to as souvenir or hate belts.

British Officers Solar Topee Sun Helmet, of khaki cloth covered body with sixteen fold cloth pagri. Thin brown leather straps. Interior retains the original sweatband and lining. Helmet remains in very good condition with just minimal signs of service wear. Helmet is accompanied by a metal storage tin for a British officers overseas foreign service sun helmet. (2 items)

WW2 German Afrika Korps Pith Helmet being a standard 2nd pattern example of olive felt with metal decals to the side. Felt is missing from the top fitting. Complete with the original strap. Leather trim to the rim of the helmet. Complete with the JHS stamped leather sweatband. Generally good condition.

Post 1953 Household Cavalry Officers Helmet Plate, being a fine gilt Queens crown example with silver eight pointed star to the centre and order of the garter centre. Plate retains the original fittings to the reverse. Much of the original fire gilt wash finish remains to the plate.

WW2 British Home Front Gas Officers Steel Helmet, with yellow paint finish to the exterior. Two black diamonds to the front and back of the helmet. Complete with the original liner and chinstrap to the interior. Some wear to the exterior paint but generally good condition.

Imperial German 1887 Pattern Pickelhaube of leather shell with brass Prussian eagle helmet plate (damaged), brass spike, brass back strap and fitted with a brass trim to the front. Fitted with repainted cockades and leather strap. Interior has the original leather liner but this shows heavy wear and flaking to the leather. Helmet has been restored in places.

Imperial German Pickelhaube being a leather shell with officers scaled chinstraps and officers pattern cockades. Prussian eagle helmet plate fitted with a later Brunswick pattern skull and crossbones with Peninsula scroll. Officers pattern spike base with four stars, and a fluted spike has been added. Interior retains the original leather liner however it is worn and dry. Ideal for restoration.

To the front of the helmet is an original painted Polish eagle badge. Interior retains the original liner system and chinstrap. Liner is stamped J.C.S & W Ltd 1939. Good untouched example.

Lot 408

Rare WW1 British Other Ranks Helmet Complete With Original Sacking Cover, the helmet is an early pattern steel helmet with its early pattern oilskin liner. The helmet shell retains its original sacking camouflage helmet cover. The cover has holes and rust bleed staining in many sections. Due to the fragile nature of the cover this has not been removed to view the exterior paint of the shell. Lining shows expected wear and has some damage. Many original wartime images show British soldiers on the front lines having these type of covers on their helmets, however due to the construction they did not last and are now very rare to find.

Original spike base and spike (top is loose). Inside has the original leather sweatband but no silk lining. Ideal for restoration.

Luftwaffe Single Decal M40 Pattern Steel Combat Helmet, retaining much of the original paint finish to the exterior of the shell. Complete with the original Luftwaffe eagle decal to the side. Interior of the helmet has the original light tan leather liner and the original leather chinstrap. Just above the decal is a small indentation probably caused by a bullet or shrapnel. Swastika to the decal is worn.

Helmet is complete with the original leather liner to the inside. Replacement post war leather chinstrap. We are of the opinion that the camouflage paint, chicken wire and decal are post war additions.

Original brown leather strap. Interior is complete with the original sweatband and liner system. Imperial Hat Works Bangalore tailors label to the inside with J C B Date inked. Helmet is accompanied by a pair of officers slip on rank slides with two crowns and 2 PUNJAB title, and Government Survey Map of India. (4 items)
