LIFE (2017) - David Jordan's IVA Space Suit - David Jordan's IVA space suit from Daniel Espinosa's sci-fi horror Life. Jordan wore his suit as he and Miranda North entered the two remaining escape pods, fleeing the doomed International Space Station.The costume consists of a helmet, a brown leather skullcap with beige paneling, a beige cotton jumpsuit, beige boots, and a backpack with plastic tubing for internal air flow system (untested). The plastic tubing and rig features "J2" and "JORDAN 2" hand-marked in black marker on attached masking tape. A hand-marked "FAN BAR" bag includes seven rubber and plastic components.The helmet features metal banding, strips of boning at the back with visible stitching, a transparent plastic visor, and a black throat microphone positioned near the skullcap's chinstrap. PROMETHEUS (2012) - Light-Up Spacesuit with Fifield's (Sean Harris) Photo-Matched Chestpack - A light-up spacesuit with Fifield's (Sean Harris photo-matched chestpack from Ridley Scott's sci-fi prequel Prometheus. Uncomfortable with the team's discovery, Millburn (Rafe Spall) and Fifield (Sean Harris) attempted to return to Prometheus on their own, but wound up lost inside the structure and were attacked by a snake-like creature. The helmet and chest armor of this spacesuit photo-match specifically to Sean Fifield's while he was in the structure. Designed by Janty Yates, this costume consists of a clear globe-shaped acrylic helmet with five video screens, LED lights, two interior fans, an external light with a camera; a rubber skull cap with a "Millburn" patch attached to the front; a cowl neck for the helmet to attach to with four video screens on the interior; a combination resin chest armor and backpack; a gray-blue stretch canvas jumpsuit over a layer of neoprene with rubber foam armor attached by metal rivets; a black nylon belt with metal hardware; leather and neoprene stunt gloves with elastic joints on the resin armor; and resin-armored boots. The suit's helmet and neck rig incorporate video screens with custom animations created for the costume. The chest pack also features a light-up front panel and a backpack that houses the battery pack as well as the flipswitch that activates the lights and video screens. Of the nine total video screens, one does not work in the helmet, and three of the four in the cowl neck have corrupted data and while they turn on, do not play the video. ‡ A COMPOSITE ENGLISH OR FLEMISH CLOSE HELMET, CIRCA 1550 with one-piece skull rising to a low boldly roped medial comb pierced at its apex with two large holes, the foremost at one time retaining a later funerary crest, and visor, upper bevor and bevor attached to it by common pivots, the visor with stepped centrally-divided vision-slit, fitted at its right side with a lifting-peg that also serves as a pull to release the spring-catch securing it to the upper bevor, the latter of prow-shaped form pierced in a raised rib across the mouth, the upper bevor and bevor each secured at their right sides by spring-catches with push-button releases (the spring for the bevor replaced), and two gorget-plates front and rear (associated), the main edges of the helmet formed with partly roped inward turns and partial turns accompanied by recessed borders, and the skull decorated to either side of its comb with a pair of similar recessed bands converging just above the nape (pitted and worn overall), 28.0 cm Provenance Joe Kindig Jr. (1898-1971), thence by descent The helmet owes its survival to having been suspended over an English tomb as part of an heraldic funerary achievement.
