dating: 19th Century provenance: Indopersia, Helmet with hemispherical skull, in iron, with floral weave and frames and cartouches with remains of golden drawings, lower border with cartouches with inscriptions in Arabic. A cusp of square section at the peak, on a circular base, with a knot, with traces of inlays. Sliding nose-piece and two plume-holders. Iron mail neck-defense with simple rings. The shield carved en suite, of circular shape and slightly convex in the center. With floral weave that overtakes the helmet drawing and thin frames, with remains of gilding. Four studs with festooned base. One frame with inscriptions in Arabic, border reinforced with brass band. The back with loops and remains of old lining. height helmet circa 50 cm.

Both decorated with brass and silver floral and geometrical motifs. height
dating: 1862 provenance: Japan, Kabuto with iron Hachi of 32 plate of rare, undulated shape. Signed 'Nakahachiman Minamoto Yoshikazu saku kore' and dated 'Bun-Kyu 2 nen Mizunoe Inu Ni-Gatsu Kitsu-Jitsu' (A fortunate day of February, year of the Dog, 1862). A brass Tehen-kanamono at the peak, with four rings, the three internal are carved with petals, the biggest engraved and partially pierced. Big Manju-shikoro of four, iron plates, lacquered in black and with matching lacing. Long Fuki-gaeshi covered with Egawa (printed leather) and provided with Take Mon (used by the powerful Matsudaira clan). Gilded, copper Maedate, depicting an Inome (a wild boar's eye, a symbol used by Matsudaira, as a heraldic emblem). Iron Menpo in ressei-men style, lacquered in brown outside; red inside; four-plated yodare kake, lacquered in brown. Fine Mogami-do, lacqured in black, enriched with elements covered with Egawa, matching, carved en suite with the helmet. With blue, silk lacing, Mimi-ito and Hishinui in red silk. Kusazuri of five elements, lacquered in black. Back-plate provided with a big, silk Agemaki. The armour is complete with its Kote, Sode, Kawa-haidate and Suneate. All the elements with lacquered plates and with elegant lacing and fabrics in antique silk and matching, further provided with elements in printed leather. In a fine, wooden, lacquered gusoku-bitsu, featuring a big, gilded Tomoe Mon. Minimal defects of time and slightest parts of lacquer missing. Mannequin is not included. Rare armour, matching and of a high quality, production of great charm and elegance. height as shown circa 145 cm.
