Signed (`Edward P`) in dark fountain pen ink to a light area of the image and dated Nigeria, 1925 in his hand. A second date, in an unidentified hand, of Lagos, 22nd April 1925, appears to the verso. Accompanied by the original envelope addressed to Mrs. A. Burt in London and postally cancelled at Cape Town, 1st May 1925. Autographs of McLaren are rare in any form following his tragically early death at the age of 32 when he crashed his car while testing at Goodwood.
