DUPREE INTERNATIONAL CHALLENGE TROPHY, 1932 comprising a covered cup, the cover with winged Victory finial, the handles in the form of two racing hydroplanes, inscribed as per title and Presented by The Vice President Sir William T Dupree Bt., Vd., Td., Dl., Jp. to The Portsmouth & South Sea Motorboat Club 1932, on stem base with dolphin supports, circular foot to ebonised base with prize cuff with Sheffield hallmarks 1931-2 -- overall height 27in. (69cm.); 128.60 oz t Royal Naval Club & Royal Albert Yacht Club, Portsmouth Named after Colonel Sir William Dupree (1856-1933), a local brewing magnate and early exponent of powerboat racing who donated it to the Royal Albert Yacht Club in 1932. It was awarded to the Portsmouth and Southsea Powerboat race winners and was used until just before the outbreak of the Second World War. Fearing invasion, the Club Secretary hid this trophy, along with other valuables, but died before hostilities had ended. It wasn't until the 1980s when builders were renovating the Queen's Hotel in Southsea that it was discovered in a chimney breast. It is now thought to be the world's second oldest power boat trophy with only the Harmsworth Trophy of 1903 pre-dating it. It has been thought that the original date of manufacture was 1913, however, no hallmarks support this, although the hydroplane handles are of that era. More recently the trophy was re-dedicated as the Round the World Powerboat Record Cup.

1968 BSA B25 Trials, 250cc. Registration number KCK 107F. Frame number B25 B4445. Engine number not known.BSA acquired the Triumph marque in 1951 and developed the C15 250 cc from the Triumph Tiger Cub; in 1958 they introduced unit construction and the BSA C15 Star was their first model, which was much more reliable than the outgoing C11, although it still had many gremlins. In 1967 it was replaced by the new B25 Starfire and C25 Barracuda, with a stronger crankcase and alloy cylinder barrel. The Starfire was aimed at the all-important US market and was styled as an off road bike with raised exhaust and strengthened handlebars, produced between 1968 and 1970. An unashamed exercise in 'badge engineering', the Starfire and the Triumph TR25W Trophy basically were the same machine except for an alteration in gearing, adoption of different wheel sizes. The range stayed until the end of BSA in 1972.This trials version appears to have been built by Duncan Brown of Preston in 2005 and registered with DVLA in the February. Our vendor bought it in 2007 and has been occasionally used as a winter bike by him. There is MOT history from 2006 at 2,763 miles and 2012 at 33,380 and 33,503 in 2013. It is now Historic and the mileage is 33,800.Sold with the V5C and MOT history, it should only need light recommissioning before green lane use again.

Rare, particularly prestigious and completely preserved sabre of the Bourbon monarchy. Cf. Thierry de Maigret, Paris, auction of 14 October 2010, lot 366, sold for 11,000 euros.During the Restoration period, drum majors used to wear this particular sabre model. It disappeared at the end of the Second Empire. The Paris swordsmith Manceaux produced this model 1822 – 1870. The Bourbon coat of arms on the quillons helps to place the object in the correct period. After 1830, the fleur-de-lys was replaced by the cock and in 1852 by the imperial eagle. Sabres of this model that have been preserved in pristine condition are very rare.
