dating: 18th Century provenance: North Italy, Smoothbore, two-stage barrel, octagonal at the fist part with frames at the edges and with a silver trophy in bas-relief at the base, then round after rings and with a thickening oval-shaped nozzle. Tang outlined at the edges. The lock is slightly carved with floral motifs, a brass mounts with remains of silver plating and signed 'P. MOTINO' at the centre of the lock-plate; wooden full stock with brass mounts decorated with floral motifs, the butt-plate and the shield on the back (above the opening button) decorated with silver elements in bas-relief, the butt-plate has two trophies, one above and the other one is at the rear side with a central mask. Horn-tipped wooden ramrod and iron cartridge extractors. length 88.5 cm.

dating: 18th Century provenance: Bergamo, Smoothbore, round barrel, with squared base decorated with rings and engraved with a trophy and brass-inlaid floral motifs, provided with short rib; strongly bell-mouthed nozzle decorated with rings. Tang engraved on a golden background. Flintlock carved with floral motifs in bas-relief. Wooden folding stock which can be opened using a button on the back near a mother-of-pearl shield; the back fully decorated with filigree lilies and floral motifs. Steel mounts majestically carved in low and high relief, counter-plate pierced with the face of a king and a warrior among racemes and dragons; the trigger guard with a trophy depicting mask at the center. The butt-plate decorated with two trophies, one at the back and one at the rear side, provided with an oval medal at the center engraved with an eagle with open wings (it could be the coat of arms of the Martinengo family, a noble family from the namesake town in the province of Bergamo, Italy). Iron ramrod. length 88.5 cm.

dating: late 17th Century provenance: Sedan, Smoothbore, four-stage, 15 mm cal barrel, octagonal at the first part and engraved with a warrior, a trophy and a figure with spears, after a 16-faceted segment decorated with grooves, two round parts divided by a ring and a band of flowers with a small face in the center, front sight; tang with remains of engravings, the rear sight made of two small parts of the stock. Flintlock signed 'PAUL POULCE A SEDAN' (not entirely legible) under the spring, the plate with very fine carvings with a grotesque figure between floral motifs and a mask on the tang, all in bas-relief, the hammer decorated en suite and with screw carved as a lion's head. Wooden full stock, the base with antique breakage and a very fine restoration. Beautiful mounts carved and pierced with masks, grotesque figures and floral motifs. Horn-tipped, wooden ramrod. For Paul Poulce see 'Der Neue Stöckel', vol. II, page 978. The great gunmaker is documented from 1700 to 1720 circa. length 158 cm.

dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: Pistoia, Smoothbore, two-stage, browned, 18 mm cal. barrel, engraved with floral motifs at the base, octagonal at the first part with two gold-inlaid marks among three lilies by a gunsmith from Pistoia (Tuscany, Italy), then round after smooth rings and a beaded one, with silver swallowtailed foresight; engraved tang; backward spring lock engraved with floral motifs. Half stock with checkered, fishbone hand rest and base, butt finely sculpted with a dragon in the lower part and with a trophy on the left side, iron mounts decorated en suite, the butt plate with closed magazine and opening button. Press secure-lock behind the ring-guard. Brass-tipped ramrod with iron cartridge extractor, silver barrel bracket. length 82 cm.

Lock with pitting, trophy engravings, oblique edges and signed 'G. STORNATI'. Working mechanism, but the cock tends to snap on the cocking position. The screw cover depicting a face in relief. Wooden stock. Brass mounts engraved with grotesques and racemes. Barbiroli reports a 'Stornati Giulio (Starnata)' gunsmith from Brescia, mid-18th century. With pan over the typical, round external spring, hammer with secure-lock (mechanism needs revision). Curved wooden butt with fine, silver mounts embossed with trophy and a large mask, an escutcheon on the back with a monogram over a mask. length 30.5 cm.

Left hammer is missing and slide safety to that side is chipped. Fine pitting and grey patching to metalwork. Small dings to extremities on the barrel. The chequering to the grip is not very well defined. Ramrod is missing.
