1971/72 Football League Division One Champion’s 9ct gold trophy – comprising a 9ct gold embossed plaque mounted on a wooden back board with easel support and engraved “Champions Division 1 – 1971-72 – John Robson – Derby County F C” - overall 4” x 4” – See lot 925 and 926 for Derby County 1968/69 Div II Championship winning season programmes, European et al. Note: In 1971 When Mackay moved to Swindon Town Brain Clough and Taylor reorganised the defence with Todd linking with McFarland at the centre of defence and Robson reinstated as the clubs first choice left back. An unbeaten opening twelve game sequence set the tone for the1971/72 season, the “Rams” eventually winning the title by one point from Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester City. Amazingly by modern standards, Derby used just sixteen players over the forty-two game league schedule. Their defence was magnificent almost throughout, returning twenty-three clean sheets and conceding three or more goals on just three occasions. John missed just one game and added a couple of important goals as well.

1974/75 Aston Villa Football League Cup winners trophy tankard – Aston Villa (1)v Norwich (0) silver plated engraved half pt tankard awarded to John Robson - rather than the traditional medal, each member of a League Cup winning team received a tankard. Note: John Robson moved to Aston Villa in 1972 in a £90000 deal. Sadly John’s Villa career was ended prematurely in August 1978, at the age of 28, by multiple sclerosis.
