The lid inlaid with a green stained navette panel containing a trophy of musical instruments framed in stringing with ebony edging trim and a harlequin chequered base band on small bun feet, 10¼ ins x 5½ ins x 6½ ins (26 cms x 14 cms x 17 cms).

The two doors intricately inlaid with urns of flowers & insects amidst scrolling foliage & interlaced strap-work festooned in floral garlands & swagged with laurel wreaths depicted in copper, brass, bone & mother-of-pearl with pen-work embellishments and framed by bands of brass stringing. The white marble top having round protuberant front corners capping the twinned baluster turned side columns. The whole enriched with gilt bronze foliate cast beading and mounts, with copper sprays of laurel and Hymen's trophy adorning the frieze, 42 ins (107 cms) in width, 44 ins (112 cms) in height.

An Exceptionally Fine 19th Century Inlaid Satinwood Fold-over Card Table of exhibition quality attributed to Mansfield and Wright. The bow-fronted satinwood top with a central oval scenic panel of various contrasting veneers enhanced with engraving. Depicting Aurora in her celestial chariot drawn by horses amongst clouds with shafts of light radiating from the emerging sun behind, framed in a broad king-wood border inlaid with a row of anthemion motifs and surrounded by delicate scrolls of foliage issued from cornucopia and swagged in drapery with fluttering ribbon bows. The outer harewood borders edged in kingwood crossbanding & strings of decorative inlay with rosettes adorning the rounded corner protuberants. The top folding over to reveal a green baize playing surface with dished counter wells to the corners. The frieze finely inlaid with a musical trophy in a centre panel flanked by lozenge cut veneers accentuated with ebony outlines. Standing on tapering legs finely carved with bulbs of crested acanthus leaves and terminating on brass caps & castors; the rear legs swinging out on brass brackets to support the top. 36 ins x 18 ins (81 cms x 46 cms) and 30½ ins (77.5 cms) in height.

A pair of Minton pilgrim flasks and covers, finely painted in light blue and pale grey with a child in an idealised landscape, a trophy to the reverse, with gilt borders and mask handles, on oval foot, 16cm h, c1880. ++One vase with glaze depth only hairline crack in the base, the stoppers lacking the pointed finial and with other damage, no restoration, particularly fine quality.

The extensive collection of papers, photographs, medals and mementos of the British Olympic team member Jean Gilbert, the medals comprising Southern Counties Amateur Swimming Association bronze 1933, gold 1934; Amateur Diving Association bronze and silver 1934, gold 1935 (2); XI Olympiad commemorative bronze medallion, by H Noack Berlin, 70mm and competitor's bronzed badge on blue ribbon, numbered 4294; Amateur Swimming Association England v Germany, Wembley 23 & 24 July 1937, gilt bronze; Southern Counties Amateur Swimming Association gold 1937 and silver 1938, British Empire Games, Sydney Australia 1938; octagonal bronze medal and competitors badge numbered 260; together with various silver and bronze swimming and diving medals, small silver trophy cups and a large quantity of photographs, some signed, printed ephemera and other memorabilia, including Jean Gilbert's black wool one-piece swimming costume worn at the Olympic Games, her scrapbook of signed photographs of Olympians and others and commemorative publications, Union flag, the swastika armband, etc. The fourteen year old Jersey girl Jean Gilbert (b1919) took up diving in 1934 and proved so successful in competitions throughout the UK that she was selected for the 1936 British Olympic team. At the Games in Berlin she secured seventh out of twenty-two places in the platform diving competition, gaining 30.16 points. The gold and silver medals were won by Americans, a German was awarded bronze and the only other British team member was placed eighteenth. ++++
