John Sullivan, effectively describing the success of the Pierce-Arrow winning the Glidden Trophy (400 ounces of sterling silver) for the second year running. A saddle-stitched 46pp book with good photographs of the competing cars, map of the 1906 event, trophy, detailed text, predicaments and troubles. The cover with edge bumps, a company rubber stamp on the front free end-paper. (1)

An Urn on stem held up by Golf Clubs. A plated W R C Eights Trophy 1897, won by J W Franks.

A plated cup and related sporting medal to Pte E Grant Assaye Day 1948, 880 yds. A plated cup Eddie Grant Billiards 1949-50, of the 1st battalion HLI. A pair of plated 16th Foot goblets, won by Lt Butler at Hythe 1874 of the 16th Bedfordshire Regt. With ornate decoration, standing some 6.1/2" high.
Of Rolls Royce and Schneider Trophy interest a collection of various letters and ephemera:, including a signed menu from an Experimental Department Dinner October 10th 1931, signed by Schneider Team members George Hedley Stainforth, John Nelson Boothman and E J L Hope, also signed by Horace Alfred Castaldini, Ken Don (holder of the world water speed record in Miss England II), Raymond Noel Dorey (Engineer of Rolls-Royce Ltd) and George Eric Platford ( Chief Tester and Inspector of Rolls-Royce Derby), also an internal memo detailing the number of engines tested in 1940, two letters to Mr W Vale, a photograph of King George V at The Rolls-Royce works in Derby and related ephemera.
