A silver plated mustard pot, by Edward, Edward Junior, John & William Barnard, of drum form, the cover with plain thumbpiece and engraved with Durham Militia shield, 2 1/2in. (6cms) high; together with a plated sauce boat, (handle detached); a white metal ashtray, (much dented and piece missing); a set of twelve A1 plate teaspoons, by Elkington & Co, in old English pattern with engraved '3rd Bn Durham L.I.' insignia to terminals; a silver plated trophy cover, (missing finial); a tea strainer; and various candelabra parts.
A 19th century American Shreve Crump & Low sterling silver handled walking stick, the handle in the form of a lobster claw, with engraved initial and inscribed to underside `from frequenters of the Revere House, May 5th 1883`, on tapering shafts with base metal end cap, stamped sterling 17 with further indistinct mark, Shreve Crump & Low are America`s oldest and finest jeweller, being founded in 1796 by John McFarlane, watchmaker and renown silversmith, through the 1800s the company grew in it`s prestige until a consolidation of firms created the name Shreve Crump & Low in 1869, this company are famous for having made the Dwight F Davis Trophy (the tennis Davis cup trophy), Revere House is and was Bostons most prestigious hotel, noted people who have stayed at this hotel include Charles Dickens, Jenny Lind, Millard Fillmore, Franklin Pierce, William Tecumseh Sherman, Edward VII, Emperor Pedro II of Brazil etc, length of shaft approx 90cm (illustrated).
