INTER MILAN EUROPEAN CUP FINAL 1967, THE OFFICIAL CELTIC FOOTBALL CLUB PENNANT GIVEN TO INTER MILAN CAPTAIN ARMANDO PICCHI BY CELTIC CAPTAIN BILLY MCNEILL, inscribed European Cup Final, FC Internazionale, v, Celtic, In Lisbon, 25th May, 1967, with embroidered shamrocks, 28in. (71cm) long. Provenance: San Siro Football Museum, Milan. The above is the official club pennant produced by Celtic for the customary exchanging of the pennants by the club captains prior to the 1967 European Cup Final, were Celtic became the first British side to win the famous trophy. A small mid 18th century continental mounted enamel snuff box, cartouche form with applied gilt decoration, in the form of festoons, love birds, putti and an amatory trophy on the base, probably German c.1750, but struck only with a single French duty mark (original fitted case), 2.25in (5.5cm) wide.
