WW2 German “War Trophy” Brest France Steel Combat Helmet, good example of a WW2 German M-35 pattern steel combat helmet which has been painted in a battle ship grey colour and then large white Swastika to centre and to the back skirt “BREST” swastika and “FRANCE”. Helmet has the original leather liner to the interior which shows some wear and section of the lining is missing. War trophy helmets were very popular with American GI’s who wanted souvenirs of their service in Europe.
Victorian 15th (The King’s) Hussars Officers Full Dress Sabretache, fine example of the scarlet cloth covered leather sabretache with bullion embroidered crown, central lion over crown set upon trophy of arms and battle honours on scrolls within laurel wreath. Thick regimental pattern brocade to the border. Complete with its flap pouch to the reverse. Some light wear but generally a very good example.
WW2 German Kriegsmarine Officers Dress Sword by E & F Horster Solingen, superb example of the standard pattern German naval officers dress sword of WW2. Fine white celluloid grip retaining the original wire binding. Gilt folding guard with central anchor, guard with fine relief, leading to the lion head pommel having set with green and red (port and starboard) jewelled eyes. Ferrule in the form of a band of oak leaves. Plain folding rear catch. Housed in its leather and brass mounted scabbard with two hanging rings. Fine curved pipe back blade, etched with sailing ships, foliage and anchor to one side, the other side having foliage, sailing ship and naval trophy with trident to centre. Blade has makers trade mark of E & F Horster Solingen. Blade 74 ½ cms, overall 89 ½ cms. The blade remains in near mint condition and nearly all the original fire gilt finish remains to the exterior fittings. A superb example.
