The bodywork was constructed around 1971 and circa. six years later it was bought by the vendor. Reportedly, recent work has included flushing the cooling system and overhauling the gearbox. Note – the original hand-operated chassis oil pump (still in position) has been superseded by grease nipples. Built as a copy of a Rivers Fletcher design, this Speed Twenty Five comes from long-term ownership and is an ideal entrant for many classic events, including the Flying Scotsman Rally.This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: PP This lot is owned by a private individual. An award winning model of the live steam campaign tug 'Campaigner', the model with detailing to include a wheel house with gallery rails and ladder, life boat, rigging, winches and other items. The live steam plant comprising of a horizontal central flue boiler with wooden cladding and polished brass boiler bands, brass displacement oiler, twin sight-glasses and steam pressure gauge. The tug is propelled by a Stuart Turner twin cylinder engine with associated copper pipework linking it to the boiler.The model won a trophy cup at The Model Engineering Exhibition Earls Court 1975 in the working scale ship class. A good scarce French steel barrelled flintlock blunderbuss with flattened elliptical muzzle, c 1800, 35” overall, the lightly browned barrel 19” with lightly gilt decoration consisting of borders of swags, trophy of flags and large sun in splendour; plain bright steel slightly rounded lock with swan neck cock and roller on frizzen spring; pale walnut fullstock, butt with high comb, inlaid with silver wire scrolls around the breech tang and wrist, trigger guard finial, and throat pipe; bright steel mounts include wrap around wavy edge butt plate, engraved trigger guard with urn finial, engraved flat side plate, and with bright steel ramrod. An 1803 field Officer’s sword of a Welsh Regiment, curved, fullered blade 30”, marked J J Runkel, Solingen on backstrap, etched with fanciful Turks heads trophy and flourishes, gilt hilt, the guard with 3 loops on each side, into panelled stirrup knucklebow incorporating GR cypher and POWs feathers in oval, lions head pommel and facetted backstrap, wirebound fishskin grip. Blade retaining a little original blueing, but with several pitting patches, hilt retaining approx 60% gilt (knucklebow loose, tail of guard bent up)

A mid 18th century 20 bore brass barrelled flintlock holster pistol, by G Reed, London, 14” overall, 3 stage barrel 8”, breech with simple scroll engraving, London proofs, “WB” mark, and engraved “London”, signed, rounded slightly banana shaped lock with unbridled pan; walnut fullstsock with aprons and shell carvings behind the breech tang and throat pipe; brass mounts include long spurred butt cap with grotesque mask finial, trigger guard with acanthus finial, castle and trophy of arms sideplate, and baluster ramrod pipes; the ramrod with brass butt top. A pair of 18 bore brass barrelled flintlock holster pistols by Brander, c 1760, 13½” overall, 3 stage barrels 8¼”, octagonal breeches engraved “London” and with London and maker’s proofs; signed slightly rounded brass locks with swan neck cocks and dog tooth borders; plain walnut fullstocks with bulbous butts and shell carving behind the breech tangs; brass mounts comprising grotesque mask butt caps, flower engraved trigger guards with foliate finials, sideplates with trophy of flags and castle tower, and baluster ramrod pipes; horn tipped ramrods, one with iron worm. Good Working Order and Condition (hairline crack below one lock, hardly visible). Plate 14 .
