An incredible piece of Peter Wyngarde memorabilia - Wyngarde's original John Stephen Fashion Award ' Best Dressed Personality ' hallmarked silver trophy. The trophy in the form of a Beau Brummell, complete with monocle and top hat. Hallmarks for Carrington & Co, London, 1970. The plaque to the front (also hallmarked) reads ' John Stephen Fashion Award - Peter Wyngarde - Best Dressed Personality - 1970 '. The award was given to Wyngarde in the summer of 1970 by Miss Radio Luxembourg. The votes for Wyngarde, were cast by listeners of Radio Luxembourg and readers of 'FAB 208' (a magazine), were far in excess of his rivals Cliff Richard and footballing legend George Best. Photographs of Wyngarde with the award have featured in many publications. Generally excellent condition for age, but the cane is missing from the top. A rare and important piece of British fashion and television memorabilia. Measures approx; 39cm tall.

GARROS, VEDRINES & KIMMERLING: Rare multiple signed page by three legendary Pioneer Aviators. Although for different reasons, all died in air crashes. Comprising Roland Garros (1888-1918) French Aviation Pioneer and Fighter Pilot of World War I. Garros died at the very early age of 29 when he was shot down by a German fighter pilot only a month before the end of the war; Jules Védrines (1881-1919)French Pioneer Aviator, the first to fly at more than 100 mph. Winner of the Gordon Bennett Trophy race, 1912. Autographs of Védrines are rare as a result of his untimely death at the age of 37 in an air crash, & Albert Kimmerling (1882-1912) French Pioneer Aviator who died at the very early age of 29 in a crash while test flying. One page, 8vo, removed from an autograph album, individually signed by the three pilots, with written text in the hand of Védrines, stating `Souvenir of a superb travel over-flying the English capital, on 3 / 7 / 1911´. Also signed by René Vidart (1890-1928) French Pionner Aviator, who died at the early age of 38, adding alongside `Souvenir of a bird of France´. Bearing to the verso four signatures by British famous men, including the actors Henry Ainley and Norman Forbes Robertson. Small overall age tone with small foxing to borders, otherwise G  £200-300    Védrines refers to the European circuit flight Calais - London. Védrines won the race, Vidart was second, Kimmering fourth and Garros fifth.

He is the creator of the ''César de Cinema'' trophy, which is awarded to the best in French cinema. A good signed and inscribed paperback attractive catalogue with drawing by Cesar. Signed and inscribed to the front free end page `Adrienne pour toi, ton petit Cesar´, and dated 1978 in his hand. Above the inscription, Cesar has drawn an erotic image of a female sex. The 52 pages 9 x 9.5 catalogue, entitled “César”, corresponds to the exhibition of his works in July-September 1978 at the Picasso museum of Antibes, and contains 38 attractive photographs of Cesar´s artistic works. THOMAS WILKINSON WALLIS. A PAIR OF LATE 19th CENTURY GOTHIC REVIVAL CARVED OAK PICTURE FRAMES of moulded design with carved masked corners, the reverse with the original label for T.W. Wallis, Carver, Gilder. Louth. 47.5cm high, 54cm wide - Thomas Wilkinson Wallis was the greatest woodcarver of Victorian England. Born in impoverished circumstances in Hull, by 1844 he had established his own business in Louth Lincolnshire, and for the 1851 he submitted seven carvings, 'of which ‘Trophy of Spring’ was awarded a medal. It was his most intricate carving, it took him 8 months to complete and was considered to surpass the work of Grinling Gibbons. Wallis also won medals at the 1855 Paris Exhibition and the London Great Exhibition in 1862.' In 1899 – four years before his death – he published his 'Autobiography of Thomas Wilkinson Wallace, Sculptor in Wood, and Extracts from his Sixty Years' Journal
