Marti and Cie twin train brass drum movement with anchor escapement and outside count wheel striking on a bell, 37.5cm high, together with a pair of en suite five light candleabra, the vase shaped gadrooned nozels supported by acanthus leaf cast branches and an urn shaped column, on conforming bases to the clock, 41cm high (3)

A 19TH-CENTURY REPUBLIC OF HAITI OFFICIAL'S DRESS UNIFORM of high quality, comprising a black serge tailcoat of cut-away form with bullion-work collar, cuffs, pocket flaps (and rosette to the back), all of scrolling oak-leaf design, the gilt-brass buttons each having a trophy of standards, drum and cannon with a central staff supporting a "Cap of Liberty", all within the legend "REPUBLIQUE D'HAITI", with matching trousers and cocked hat, (fore and aft), the latter with black moire-silk and ostrich feather embellishment and having the maker's name Ranken & Co., Calcutta, together with its japanned iron carrying case with brass lock and (vacant) escutcheon, 104cm x 33.5cm x 13.5cm, (41in x 13in x 5.5in) overall
