TWR Collection of Historic Racing Sports Cars and Memorabilia auction, Saturday 5th July 2003 The 1997 Hungarian Grand Prix was an F1 motor race held at Hungaroring, Hungary on 10th August 1997.The race contested over 77 laps, was the eleventh race of the 1997 F1 season and was won by Jacques Villeneuve (Canadian), driving a Williams-Renault, with Damon Hill (Great Britain) second in an Arrows-Yamaha and Johnny Herbert (Great Britain) third in a Sauber-Petronas.Defending World Champion Damon Hill, who had been having a poor year in the uncompetitive and unreliable Arrows, had led comfortably for most of the race, after qualifying third behind championship challengers Michael Schumacher and Jacques Villeneuve. However, a hydraulic failure resulted in Villeneuve passing him on the final lap. It was to be the closest the Arrows team ever came to a Grand Prix victory and would turn out to be their final podium finish.

Stamped to the underside - Piquot Ware / Made In England. Comes along with a three-handled coopered style wooden tankard, likely to be a trophy, with unused shield shape cartouche to front. Tallest item measures approximately 19cm tall.
A Mauser model 1898 7mm calibre bolt action rifle. Serial number B2992, captured by vendors father in WWI, shows bruising on stock commensurate with age and action in the field. A FIREARMS CERTIFICATE WITH AUTHORITY TO BUY 7MM RIFLE IS REQUIRED TO PURCHASE THIS LOT Condition Report: The mechanism appears to function normally, not live fired, according to the vendor the rifle was brought back as a war trophy after the war.
