An Early 19th Century French Diplomat`s Sword, the 81cm single edge steel blade engraved and gilt with martial trophies and foliate tendrils, bearing traces of blueing, the hallmarked silver hilt with griffin mask and foliate chased and cast shell guard, the knuckle bow with a trophy of arms, with plumed and visored helmet pommel and two piece mother of pearl grip, lacks scabbard.
An Early 19th Century Officer`s Percussion Cap Pistol by D Egg, London, converted from a flintlock, the 22.5cm steel barrel signed on the top flat, with foliate engraved tang, slide safety, signed lock plate, walnut full stock with steel ramrod pipes, the trigger guard engraved with a martial trophy and with bud finial, the bag butt with diamond chequered grip and steel butt cap, with brass mounted wood ramrod.

A VERY GOOD EARLY 20TH CENTURY DOUBLE RHINO HORN TROPHY the two horns mounted upon an oval mahogany plinth. Large horn 43ms girth, 73cms long, Small horn 48cms girth, 44.5cms long. Total weight including plaque 6.08kgs. Some natural splits to horns. Provenance: Shot in 1946 in Kenya by the vendors Grandfather, Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North, with accompanying Cities certificate number 039-10.
An extremely fine detailed exhibition standard 3½in. gauge model of the GNR 4-2-2 Stirling Single locomotive and tender No. 1, built by A. Peacock, the boiler with fittings including steam pressure and water vacuum gauges (built by A. Peacock), safety, blower, injector, whistle, steam brake, clack and blowdown valves. Cab details include GNR pattern push/pull regulator, reverse lever with spring loaded catch, fire door with adjustable draught door, levers for sand, cylinder drains and damper and wooden cab floor. Chassis details include twin outside cylinders with inside Stephenson’s link gear with counterbalance weightshaft, detailed big ends, sanding boxes, working leaf springs, oil pots and pipes, high and low pressure injectors, steam operated brake gear, steps, hand and lamp irons and lamps. Tender details include water cocks, toolbox, hand operated brake gear, fine rivet detail (using special drill stand built by Mr Peacock) and hand feed pump. The engine and tender are finished in GNR livery and lining and polished brightwork, with engraved brass plates to splashers - 1020mm long; with set of of scale tools, oil can and showtrack, in glazed mahogany case. This locomotive won the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Challenge Trophy, awarded to the winner of the Championship Award at the Model Engineer Exhibition, in 1970. The first of the iconic Stirling 8ft Singles was built at Doncaster, Works No. 50, on April 20th 1870, exactly a century before this model was constructed. The locomotive is preserved in the National Railway Museum, York, having been withdrawn from service in September 1907
A FINE OTTOMAN BALKAN PERCUSSION BLUNDERBUSS, 19TH CENTURY with two-stage barrel encrusted with a gold sunburst fore-sight and with scrollwork over the breech, breech tang of shaped outline encrusted with gold linear ornament and an inscription, partly enclosed side-hammer action encrusted with further designs of gold, figured walnut full stock profusely inlaid with silver wire scrolls and small pellets over its entire surface, with a further inscription beneath the butt, steel trigger-guard decorated en suite with the barrel, hinged butt-cap decorated in gold with a trophy-of-arms, the inside of the butt hollowed for a charge and flints, horn fore-end cap, and contemporary ramrod 58.5cm; 23in The transcribed inscriptions read `amal-e parzarin adam usta` [Its maker is Adam Usta of Prizren] Prizren in Southern Kosovo was part of the Ottoman Empire until the First Balkan War (1912-1913).
A FINE SWEDISH ROYAL SWORD OF HONOUR GIVEN BY KARL XIV JOHAN, KING OF SWEDEN, WITH AMETHYST SET GILT-BRASS HILT AND GREEN PORPHYRY GRIP, CIRCA 1818-44 with curved pipe-backed blade double-edged towards the hilt, etched over its full surface and enriched with gilt and blued details, including elaborate trophies-of-arms, an eagle perched upon thunderbolts, the crowned Royal cypher `C XIV J`, an armoured figure, fasces entwined with foliage and a mounted carousel figure on one side and an owl as an allegory of wisdom upon a pair of fronds, the crowned Royal arms, fasces, a demi-armoured figure above a trophy involving pistols, and a figure in blued three-quarter armour on the other, the tip etched with a pattern of stars on a faux watered ground on each side, the back-edge engraved and gilt with conventional foliage over its length, gilt-brass hilt cast and chased in low relief, comprising a pair of langets decorated with a classical trophy-of-arms enclosed within a framework of flowers, foliate quillon with eagle`s head terminal, knuckle-guard decorated with neo-classical scrolls and trophies enclosing three hardstones, probably amethysts, and rising to the pommel, the latter formed as a plumed classical helmet set with the mask of Medusa at the front, green porphyry grip applied in gilt-brass with the crowned Royal cypher at the front, in its original leather-covered wooden scabbard with gilt-brass locket, middle band and chape each decorated with neoclassical foliage, scrolls and ornament including, on the chape an eagle upon thunderbolts, the middle band with a trophy involving a wyvern defending fasces, and an elaborate trophy of the locket, and remaining in very good to fine condition throughout 84cm; 33 1/4in blade Provenance Mauritz Axel, Greve Lewenhaupt (1791-1868), Marshal of The Realm (1849-60) and Over Governor of Stockholm (1841, 1842-44). The decoration is probably by Carl Gustaf Liljedahl of Stockholm. Another Royal sword of Honour with amethyst set hilt and green porphyry grips is preserved in the Royal Armoury, Stockholm, see L. Nordstrom 1984, cat. no. 26, pp. 107-8.

A NORTH GERMAN OFFICER`S PARTISAN, DATED 1643 with broad central blade of hollow-diamond section formed with a pair of up-turned flat lugs at the base, decorated on each side with a trophy-of-arms and the date beneath in a panel (worn), tapering moulded socket interrupted by three hexagonal collars and a pair of long straps, on its original wooden haft with steel shoe 45.5cm; 18in head Probably intended for a specific corps, or perhaps for the entry of Duke August the Younger (1579-1666) who moved to the main residence in Wolfenbüttel in this year.

REIBICHLER IN MUNCHEN CIRCA 1841-3 with etched twist octagonal barrel rifled with seven grooves, engraved with a band of foliage and inlaid with a silver line at the muzzle, signed in gold in a silver frame over the breech and inlaid with a further silver line, a pair of gold lines and scrollwork, scroll-engraved breech tang decorated with a pair of hounds in a rondel, with provision for a peep-sight behind, flush-fitting lock signed in a brass-lined recessed oval, decorated with a trophy-of-arms and with a mounted hunter in pursuit of a stag in an enclosure, double set trigger, figured walnut full stock, finely carved with a pattern of scale chequering at the fore-end and the grip, the butt carved with a green man mask beneath, with raised cheek-piece on the left and patchbox with sliding cover on the right, engraved steel mounts including side-plate formed of a pair of mirrored serpents, butt-plate with a rampant lion in a landscape, inscribed `no.188` and with birds-of-prey on the tang, wooden trigger-guard decorated with a baying hound on the bow and with engraved steel terminal, three blued steel ramrod-pipes, horn fore-end cap, and steel ramrod 61cm; 24in barrel This maker is recorded in Munich circa 1841-43.
A FLINTLOCK BLUNDERBUSS BY EDWARD 1 NORTH, LONDON, CIRCA 1750 with brass barrel formed in two stages, swelling towards the muzzle, inscribed `London`, stamped with the barrelsmith`s mark, engraved with foliage and moulded at the breech, engraved steel tang, signed border-engraved rounded lock, figured walnut full stock carved with a scallop moulding behind the tang (fore-end cracked), brass mounts comprising pierced trophy-of-arms side-plate, butt-plate engraved with rococo ornament and a trophy-of-hunting, trigger-guard with early acorn finial and a rococo flower on the bow, vacant escutcheon with a green man mask beneath, two moulded ramrod-pipes and contemporary horn-tipped wooden ramrod 80.5cm; 31 3/4in Edward 1 North (died 1761) was made free of the Gunmaker`s Company in 1729 and became Master in 1753. He is recorded behind the Royal Exchange at Threadneedle Street and was Member and Armourer of the Honourable Artillery Company from 1733.
