Taxidermy: Bengal Tiger (Panthera tigris tigris), circa 1940, by Van Ingen Van Ingen, Mysore, India, numbered 28095, large shoulder mount turning slightly to the right, with mouth agape in aggressive pose, glass eyes, mounted upon a typical oversized ebonised shield, vestiges of Van Ingen care label to verso, 50.5cm from the wall, taken from the Hatikhira tea estate in Karimganj district, Assam, North East India, by the vendors father Mr C. M. d'Angibau Esq, on 27th October 1940, including the complete original tanned back skin, also prepared by Van Ingen Van Ingen, Mysore India, 230cm in length, 195cm across the forelimbs, original stamped Van Ingen Van Ingen identification label still attached, photo copy pictures of the hunt included, this trophy has been in the families possession ever since, and never before offered on the open market (2) CITES Annex A, Appendix I (exempt)Shoulder mount - left ear tip damaged and seem is open, possible small re-painting to the nose, some cracking and very small losses around the gum line filler, good colour remains , all fangs have cracks, both upper fangs have chips to the tips, Back skin - very good colour , only 1 claw missing, two small peri mortem scars at the top of the skin near shoulder area, Rob 29/11/18

Rare Post 1912 Garde du Korps Other Ranks Cuirass, blackened example with white metal trophy of arms gorget centre. Red cord border to both the front and rear plates. Brown leather waist strap with brass buckle fitting. Leather backed scaled brass straps. Attached to the straps is a three piece Imperial German medal bar, attached by the vendor. Cloth lining to the rear of each plate having ink issue stamps and dates 1897. Remains in good overall condition.
^ Superb Brechin Volunteer Infantry Georgian Presentation Sword by Woolley, Deakin, Dutton & Johnson,1808, of Scottish National Interest, the sword with signed blued and gilt blade etched with crowned GR cipher, Royal Arms, figures of Victory, Britannia etc, martial trophies, Prince of Wales feathers, Union flowers and profuse foliage together with the gilt presentation inscription ‘Presented by the non-commissioned officers & privates of the Brechin Volr. Infantry to David Ogilvy Esqr Major of that corps in testimony of their esteem and respect for him as an officer and a gentleman A.D. 1808‘ against a blued ground. The presentation inscription is similar in design and style to that seen on the Lloyds Patriotic Swords. Gilt brass hilt with lion’s head pommel, pierced knuckle guard with laurel, langets formed as a pair of angel heads against a star burst, spiral carved ivory grip. In its leather scabbard with gilt brass mounts finely engraved with dragons and with an elaborate trophy. Good condition, a little age wear to scabbard mounts and blade, grip with vertical age crack. A truly beautiful sword of extreme quality, presented to someone believed to be from one of the most influential families in Scottish history. The Ogilvy family is one of the most distinguished families in Scottish History dating back to 1296 when Patrick de Ogilvy appears on the Ragman Roll swearing fealty to King Edward I of England. Patrick’s two sons, however supported Robert the Bruce during the wars of Scottish Independence. During the English Civil War, the Clan Ogilvy supported the Royalists, they fought under James Graham the 1st Marquess of Montrose. It was at the Battle of Philiphaugh in 1648 where James Ogilvy 2nd Earl of Airlie was captured and imprisoned in St Andrew’s Castle but managed to escape the day before his execution, wearing his sisters clothes. The Ogilvy Clan fought during the Jacobite Uprisings in 1715-16 and 1745-46 with one regiment from the clan fighting at the famous Battle of Culloden. It was after this battle that the chief of the clan escaped to France. The Brechin Volunteer Infantry, in Angus, was raised in 1799, in response to the threat of invasion from France after the French Revolution.THIS ITEM WILL REQUIRE A CITES LICENSE TO BE EXPORTED OUTSIDE THE EU
A 19th century continental naval officer’s dress sword, plain shallow diamond section blade 28”, gilt brass hilt with double shell guard the front fixed and embossed with crowned fouled anchor on trophy of flags and foliage, the back hinged and plain, oak leaf panelled knucklebow, and pommel, wirebound (loose) wooden grip, with knot, in its leather scabbard (old repair to centre), with plain brass locket and foliate engraved chape. GC, the hilt retaining approx 40% gilt.
A good courtsword, c 1900, slender hollow triangular section blade 31½”, by Ede, Son, Ravenscroft, 93, 94 Chancery Lane, London, etched with trophy and scrolls for half its length, cut steel hilt with pierced, downturned shell guard, crossguard and quillon, knucklebow, facetted urn shaped pommel with elaborate stud and swollen grip, the hilt polished and set with facetted studs overall, in its black PL scabbard (some wear) with steel locket, small suspension ring and chape. Near VGC, the sword retaining most original finish. Plate 7
A rare mid 18th century French officer’s sword with folding triple bar hilt, straight SE blade 31½”, with triple fullers along the back edge, etched on both sides in panels at forte with maker’s logo “De La Fabrique de la Marque au Raisin à Solingen” with devices, and along the blade on one side the crowned Royal Arms of France on a trophy of arms and instruments, and on the other side in large bold ornate capitals “Vive Le Roi”, steel hilt with open heart shaped guard and scalloped edge knucklebow along which are 2 closely fitting sidebars which open out and clip to the guard (one clip missing) to form an open “basket” type hilt, plain pommel, simulated wirebound grip. VGC for age with a pleasing patina. Plate 7
A 1970 Triumph Trophy TR6, registration number FMK 779J, green. This matching numbers UK supplied bike is fitted with a full Avon fairing. It has had two previous owners plus the supplying dealer. The last keeper having owned the Triumph since May 1980 has recently retired from riding. The recorded mileage is just over 62000 miles, which is believed to be genuine. The Triumph will be offered for sale with MOT history and original Lucas headlamp shell and unit to revert back to original if the fairing is removed. V5C, MOT and tax exempt See illustration
A 1969 Triumph Trophy TR6R, registration number MFX 243G, frame number HC23945, engine number HC23945, red/black. Originally exported to America this matching numbers Trophy returned to these shores in 2000. Since then it has had one previous owner before joining a private collection in 2007. The Triumph has been fully restored. Having been unused and in storage for the past couple of years the Triumph will require some light recommissioning and the usual safety checks before taking to the road. A 1958 Triumph TR5 Trophy, registration number MSK 833, frame number 27153 NA, engine number T100C 39826, silver and black. This rigid frame Trophy has formed part of a small private collection since being acquired by our vendor in 2011 from the widow of a friend who had owned the Triumph since 2001. Presented in good condition the Triumph has recently been fitted with a fully restored/rebuilt magneto, new magneto drive cog, handle bar and footrest rubbers and an oil change. This well presented example will need a check over before taking to the road and will be offered for sale with some history. V5C, MOT and tax exempt See illustrations
