An 1803 Royal Naval officer’s sword, slender, shallow diamond section blade 27½”, etched and blued and gilt for two thirds length with crown, GR cypher and stylized foliage on one side and trophy of arms in stylized foliage on the other, gilt stirrup hilt with crossguard engraved with foliate panels, pronounced knucklebow into flattened lion’s head pommel with flowing mane backstrap, slightly swollen wirebound chequered ivory grip, in its black leather (limp and fractured) scabbard with stylized foliate engraved locket, middle band and chape, 2 rings, the locket maker’s name “Salter, Sword Cutler and Jeweller to HRH the Duke of Sussex, 35 Strand London”. Very Good Condition for age, the blade retaining virtually all original finish, the hilt and scabbard mounts approx 60% gilt. Plate 19
A Georgian Naval officers hanger, flat, sharply curved blade 21", double edged towards point, lightly etched for half length on both sides with trophy of arms and foliate flourishes, gilt mounted hilt with flattened shallow S shaped crossguard, small chain link up to flattened lion’s head and mane pommel and backstrap, chequered ivory grip (crack to left side) in its polished leather scabbard with brass locket, middle band and chape, 2 rings, the locket engraved “Bond 45 Cornhill”. A composite French sword, curved, shallow fullered blade 28” (tip AF), with maker’s initials “...K&....” (unclear) at forte, and etched with a trophy and flourishes on both sides, brass hilt, the slender ovoid guard with reinforced edges and sideloop, into knucklebow and forward sloping cap shaped pommel, with ornamental quillon, bands, and wreath to pommel, wirebound grip. Basically GC (blade some wear and small edge nicks, guard loose, some grip wire missing)
A .577” Volunteer Snider 3 band rifle by Reilly, 55” overall, barrel 36½” with London proofs and Enfield inspector’s mark, the breech block having “Snider Patent” mark; lock bearing crowned “VR” and “1865” over “L.A. Co” and engraved “E.M. Reilly & Co, New Oxford St, London”; walnut fullstock with brass mounts, trigger guard with eyelet securing chain and nipple protector, and numbered 10,021; with single sling swivel, original steel ramrod, muzzle plug, German silver rearsight cover stamped “Snider”, and with registration mark, and triangular socket bayonet (no scabbard), Good Working Order and Condition, the barrel retaining much original blued finish (bayonet socket lightly pitted). Accompanying this lot is a “Firearms Form 7” exempting it from requiring to be sold on a firearms certificate as it is classed as a “trophy”, dated March 1922. Plate 33
A mid 18th century silver mounted 22 bore “Queen Anne” style cannon barrelled flintlock boxlock side action pistol, by Griffin, Bond Street, 12” overall, turned off barrel 5½” numbered “1” on barrel and breech; London proved and signed below the L shaped frizzen spring; square back trigger guard retaining traces of trophy of arms engraving; bulbous walnut butt having shell carving around the barrel tang and silver mounts comprising grotesque mask butt cap, foliate scrolled sideplate, and escutcheon. Wylie 1928-29', 42mm high, maker J McM, in nine carat gold, 18g Note: The 1929 Scottish Cup Final was played between Kilmarnock and Rangers, with the Ayrshire side emerging the victors in a 2-1 win that would see them lift the trophy for the second time.
ROBERT BURNS GOLD MEDAL, AWARDED TO ALEX JACKSON IN 1926, the obverse depicting Robert Burns in relief and inscribed '1759 1796', the reverse inscribed 'Robert Burns Statue Newcastle upon Tyne, Football Match Scots v Anglo-Scots St. James Park 28th April 1926. Won by A. Jackson.', 42mm high including bale, 42mm high including bale, maker NG Co, in nine carat gold, 19.7g Note: Alex Jackson (1905-1946) was a Scottish footballer who played for Huddersfield and Chelsea amongst other sides, though was perhaps best known for his performance as part of the Scottish national team. Jackson was one of the ‘Wembley Wizards’, and in fact, scored a hat-trick to assist Scotland in their famous 5-1 win over England at Wembley in 1928. This attractive medal was awarded to Jackson for his participation in the Robert Burns Statue fund trophy football match of April 1926. This fundraising match took place annually at St James’ Park in Newcastle from 1925 and 1928, with the original aim of erecting a Burns statue in Newcastle. The money raised was eventually donated to various causes including the Princess Mary maternity hospital.

The 1984 Scottish Cup Final was played between Aberdeen and Celtic, with The Dons retaining the trophy for a third consecutive time after winning 2-1.

Exchanged with Tony Galvin of Tottenham, Feyenoord badge over left breast, Puma logo on right breast. Red and white "v" neck collar. Number 3 in black on reverse. One sleeve white, one sleeve red. Spurs won both legs of the UEFA Cup tie, Galvin scoring 2 goals in the Spurs home leg and he also scored in the 2-0 win in Rotterdam. Spurs went on to win the trophy. Good
