An Edwardian silver and copper casket of golfing interest, Levi & Salaman, Birmingham 1908, square, the hinged cover repousse with the figure of a golfer, the sides in planished copper with pierced silver overlay on shaped pad feet; together with a silver salt or miniature trophy of golfing interest, faint Birmingham hallmarks, the sides modelled with paired golf clubs and ball. FULHAM FC MEDAL 1891 Winners medal for the West London Observer Association Football Challenge Cup 1891. Hall-marked silver with enamel crest and engraved on reverse "Fulham FC J.King 1891". Fulham FC, founded in 1879 had prior to this triumph only won one other Cup competition, namely the West London Cup in 1886-87, and this is a medal from only the second trophy that Fulham had won. Until 1898, Fulham were an amateur side and Jack King was also a member of the Fulham Championship team of 1892-93 (West London League) and was a founder member of the team from the Mud Pond pitch days near Star Lane. This was the first season that this Cup competition was held and Fulham defeated The Stanley 5-3 in the Final after a draw a week earlier. The medal with pin clasp is in good condition and comes with a non-original case. Good
