French Silver Mounted Double Barrel 24-Bore Flintlock Holster Pistol reconverted from percussion, barrels with a little floral decoration retaining faint traces of gilding, fullstock carved behind the barrel tang and now with hardwood fore end, silver mounts comprising a grotesque mask buttcap and trigger guard with trophy engraved bow, the latter with French hall marks, stock with a little silver wire inlay. Barrels 20cms, overall 34cms. Good condition, ramrod restored, some age wear.
French 28-Bore Flintlock Holster Pistol c.1780, half octagonal barrel, full stocked with a little silver wire inlay, lock engraved with rococo ornament on tail, engraved pale coloured brass furniture comprising longspur buttcap, trigger guard with flaming finial, sideplate engraved with trophy of arms. Barrel 20cms, overall 35cms. Good condition, age worn overall, ramrod restored.
^ Very Unusual Naval Officer’s Dirk c.1820, straight tapered shallow diamond section blade (well worn), turned ivory grip (age cracked), copper gilt mounts comprising acanthus chased crosspiece, lion’s head pommel, sheath of wavy outline engraved Dudley, Grand Parade, Portsmo. within crowned garter, together with a serpent, trophy, flowers and foliage, twin suspension rings formed as serpents. Blade 23cms, overall 32cms. Good condition.
^ Very unusual George IV Midshipman’s Dirk, 1821-1830, thick elliptical section blade with traces of etched and gilt decoration, bobbin turned ivory grip, ivory pommel carved as a bust portrait of George 4th, gilt brass mounts comprising circular dish-shaped guard and ferule, in its brass sheath engraved with a trophy of arms, sun bursts and foliage, 2 hanging rings. Blade 22cms, overall 31cms. Good condition.
^ Georgian Naval Officer’s Dirk, curved single edge blade etched with panels containing trophy of arms and laurel, and flowering foliage, together with sprays of foliage and flowers, recurved gilt brass crosspiece with swollen finials chiselled with flowering foliage, turned ivory grip, pommel engraved with flower, in its brass sheath engraved with foliage and H.Merry May 4th 1849, twin hanging rings, foliate chased hanging bands, acorn finial. Blade 26cms, overall 34cms. Good condition, gilding worn.
^ Fine Georgian Naval or Infantry Officer’s Silver Hilt Sword c.1770-80, straight single edge blade gilt etched with crowned Royal Arms (pre-1801), crowned GIIIR, trophy of arms, foliate and rococo ornament, and J.J.Runkell Solingen along back edge, silver hilt (not hall marked), flat back gripstrap with engraved borders, knuckle bow swollen towards the pommel, narrow langets extending into the chequered ivory grips, quillon with stepped finial. Blade 81.5cms, overall 92.5cms. Good untouched condition and patina.
Rare French Revolutionary / Napoleonic Wars M.1783 Naval Cutlass, good quality two bar brass hilt, the underside of the guard engraved ‘Ame du Port de Toulon’, inside struck with 2 French acceptance stamps. 62cm blade stuck with acceptance mark. Some tiny chips to the edge of the blade, otherwise good condition. Probably a trophy from the British seizure of Toulon in 1793. See ‘Les Armes Blanches de la Revolution’, p. 102, for another example.
Scarce George V Court Sword for an Irish County Lieutenant, blade etched and mirror polished with a martial trophy and shamrocks within scrolling foliage, gilt brass hilt of regulation pattern incorporating silver crowned Royal cypher above laurel, pierced crown pommel, silvered wire-bound grip, crimson and gold bullion dress knot, in its black leather scabbard with gilt brass mounts. Blade 81.5cms, overall 95cms. Good condition, blade and hilt retain nearly all original polish and gilding.

A Louis XVI Revival Sèvres porcelain and ormolu mantel clock, 7.5cm slightly convex white enamel dial inscribed with Arabic numerals in blue and second subsidiaries in black, twin-winding holes, 14-day movement, the centre and apron with inset plaques painted with putti and neoclassical trophies en grisaille, on a cobalt blue ground, the case boldly cast and crested by an emblematic agrarian trophy of a scythe, bushels, flowers and birds, the base with further trophies emblematic of music and the arts, applied throughout with floral garlands, bun feet, 32cm high, c.1870 Condition Report: Broken handles. Lacking bell/gong and pendulum. Good overall condition with a hairline crack on the top of the vase, signs of damage to the leg that is attached from the bottom of the vase to the platform base.
