183 AD. Rome mint. Obv: M COMMODVS ANTONINVS AVG legend with laureate head right. Rev: TR P VIII (IMP V) COS IIII PP legend with Victory walking left, holding a trophy with both hands; S-C across fields. Obverse legend variant of RIC 352 and Cohen 862 (both listing obverse legend ending with AVG PIVS); Sear 5821 variant (obverse legend and Victory walking right); not in BMC; other coins of this issuing period have legends with and without PIVS, this legend should be added to RIC 352. See Wildwinds.com (this coin"). 24.14 grams. . . Near extremely fine. Very rare.
2nd century AD. A bronze openwork plate brooch of a trophy with tendrils modelled in the half-round, hinged pin and catchplate to the reverse. Cf. Hattatt, R. Brooches of Antiquity, Oxford, 1987, item 1021 for type. 8.23 grams, 33mm (1 1/4"). Private collection, North London; acquired in the early 1990s. . Fine condition.

^ 1796 Pattern Infantry Officers Sword, regulation blade stamped GG at root, etched with crowned GR cipher, 1801-1816 royal arms, ‘Osborns Warranted’ within banner, union flowers and martial trophy; regulation gilt brass hilt retaining virtually all original gilding, folding sideguard, chequered one piece ivory grip, blade 82cms. Good condition and age patina, some pitting to edges of blade.
Imperial German 1871 Sawback Dress Bayonet with Etched Blade, brass ribbed hilt with S type steel guard and muzzle ring. Housed in its leather scabbard with brass mounts. Sawback blade etched with foliage and trophy of arms. Blade measures 49 ½ cm in length. No makers mark to the forte. Some staining to the blade but generally remains in good condition.
English Cavalry Officers Basket Hilt Backsword c.1760-70, broad single edge blade cut with 2 fullers, etched with crowned GR, trophy of arms, and on the back edge SOHLINGEN, iron basket hilt comprising 3 scrolling bars, swollen quillon, compressed whorled pommel, later wire bound leather covered grip. Blade 86cms. Good un-touched condition, 3” section of rear bar missing from hilt.
A Victorian silver Goblet, by William Edwards, hallmarked London, 1876, of traditional form, with beaded decoration to knopped stem and beaded border to foot, engraved with floral swags and ribbons, the boot similarly engraved, engraved on front and reverse, awarded as a trophy from 'Magdalen College Pigeon Shooting' competition, dated 1880, 7in (18cm) high, approx weight 7.5ozt.
A Victorian silver Goblet Trophy Cup, by Atkins Brothers, hallmarked Sheffield, 1892, chased with fluted decoration and with two vacant shield shaped cartouche with a reeded rim, the foot also with fluted decoration and the knopped stem with beaded decoration, 11in (28cm) high, approx total weight 17.5ozt.

Limited, Birmingham 1924, of urn shape with lobed lower body, knopped stem, pair of looping handles, a pineapple finial, on stepped pedestal base inscribed 'Douglas & Clydesdale Amateur Boxing Club Challenge Cup Presented by the Officers of the Cameronians Scottish Rifles 1926' and with two winner's names 'Thomas Hunter, Welter 1926 - 27 and John Jarvie, Feather 1927 - 28', 29cm high, 26oz
THE WEDNESBURY CHARITY FOOTBALL CUP BY WALKER & HALL - BIRMINGHAM 1879, a large and impressive trophy cup with scrolling acanthus twin handles, banded stem and stepped footed base leading to an ebonised base with silver plaques engraved with previous winners of the cup. The lid is finished with a decorative finial figure of 'Charity'. To the front of the main body of the trophy there is an early engraving of a football match in play with the ball coming in from the sideline toward a group of footballers with a bearded goalkeeper between the flag topped posts. The other side is engraved with 'Charity' attending to two children with the motto 'Charity upon whose kind maternal breast, the sheltered babes of misery rest'. Either side of this are the crests of Wednesbury and Staffordshire. The base has engraved plaques with past winners of the trophy whose notable include - The first winners Stafford Road, Wolverhampton 1880, Nottingham Forest 1883, West Bromwich Albion 1894, Walsall Town 1886, Wolverhampton Wanderers 1888, Singers FC - Coventry 1892, Walsall FC 1913, then a break for the Great War, Walsall winning three times 1921, 1922 and 1923 and up to the last winners Cradley Town 1991 , H
A JAPANESE KATANA WITH WWII LEATHER SCABBARD, covering original lacquer sheath, with iron metal onlaid tsuba decorated with a horned demon and a pine tree, cord bound fish skin handle, the terminal onlaid with two strands of wheat, the tang unsigned, the blade 70cm long, 101cm long overall, together with the original War Trophy Certificate, 23 Indian Division SEAC numbered 311520 to Captain R.Whitley, Unit HQ 37.IND.INF.BDE dated 21 November '46, written in ink 'One Japanese Officer's Sword 25 May 46', signed by the Field rank officer, 19cm x 21cm, later framed and glazed. A patinated plaster model of a woman by Phoebe Stabler, modelled seated, her legs crossed, covered in a green patination, and another with white highlighting on ebonised wood base, paper label to base, 16cm. high, (2). Catalogue Notes The stylised profile and hair of this figure is comparable to the figured modelled by Phoebe Stabler for The Wakefield Gold Trophy (The Spirit of Speed) presented to Major Seagrave by Sir Charles Wakefield in 1929. A 1937 Coronation car pennant of double sided printed form with chromium plated mast, contained in its original box with instructions, together with a 1931 London-Exeter trophy tankard, awarded to M.N. Japanese Samurai Katana sword. Tang is signed Bishu Osafune Honorimitsu Three holes through tang. 71cm blade. Black lacquered wooden scabbard. Bronze Tsuba. This sword was a WW2 trophy to a Royal Navy Officer. His photo album is included with the sword and has a photo of the Japanese Officer, Captain Tsuneki, surrendering the sword.
