Silver bowl with military inscription: Solid silver trophy bowl, hallmarked Birmingham 1900, presented to L (Stone) company 1st vol. batt. North Staffs regt., by Major T Parrington, 2nd Lancs RGA (vol.) for winning of the musketry course. Winner 3 times keeps the bowl, which is what appears to have happened in 1911, see inscriptions. Significant dent to footrim. Weight 573 grams.

(CIRCA 1821 AD), PROBABLY TURKEY with English barrel of 'Spanish' form encrusted with gold scrollwork, inscribed 'London', struck with Birmingham private proof marks over the breech, and retained by four parcel-gilt and chased niello silver bands, grooved tang, iron lock of Eibar type, incorporating the date inlaid on a scroll and with maker's cartouche, the cock formed as a lion chiselled in the round and plated in silver, the bridle also chiselled and silvered and formed as a trophy-of-arms, wooden full stock profusely inlaid with engraved plaques of silver, brass and two colours of gold over the rear, involving elaborate trophies-of-arms and music over the butt, with a brief Turkish inscription on the underside behind the trigger and fitted with a large trap engraved with a trophy-of-arms on the heel, and with its ramrod 91.2 cm; 35 7/8 in barrel Provenance Wallis & Wallis, Golden Jubilee sale, 23rd October 1978, lot 49 The inscription reads, "Þerif-zade Þýrrý (Piri?) Shaykh … year 1236 (1820-1821) (?)"
Scarce Prussian Model 1889 Infantry Officers Sword Produced for a Child, an interesting exact copy of the officers sword with brass guard incorporating Prussian eagle, fishskin covered grip with wire binding. Housed in plated scabbard with two hanging rings. Blade with etched decoration to both sides of foliage and trophy of arms. Blunted tip as usual with the kinder swords. Some rusting to the top of the blade but otherwise good example. The blade measures 50 ½ cms, overall 63 ½ cms.
Scarce Imperial German Prussian Grenadiers Mitre Cap, having large white metal front plate with eagle to centre, trophy of arms and fused grenades etc. Scaled leather backed chinstraps. Red cloth bag with braid strips. Interior has leather lining. Complete with its original pom-pom. Some staining to the cloth bag and white metal fittings show patina. Overall a good example of a scarce item of Imperial German headdress.
