A Late 17th Century German Hunting Hanger, the 58.5cm slightly curved single edge steel blade with a narrow fuller to the top edge, engraved with crowned rampant lion, martial trophy and inscription "fur Gott und Das Vatterland", the brass stirrup hilt with a shell guard cast and chased with a deer or bear hunt, with down turned animal mask quillon and wood grip.

GIBSON ALTHEA (1927-2003) American Tennis Player, Wimbledon Champion 1957 & 1958 & BUXTON ANGELA (1934- ) English Tennis Player. Gibson and Buxton were Wimbledon Doubles Champions in 1956. Vintage signed 8 x 10 photograph by both Gibson and Buxton individually. The original press photograph, with a printed caption to the verso, shows the players standing in full length poses alongside the Duchess of Kent who is seen presenting them with their trophy following their victory in the Doubles Final at Wimbledon on 7th July 1956. Signed by both Gibson and Buxton in blue fountain pen ink to light areas of the image. One very slight, minor corner crease, VG

MAJOR JOHN: (1943- ) British Prime Minister 1990-97. T.L.S., John Major, with holograph salutation and subscription, one page, 4to, 10 Downing Street, London, 14th January 1992, to Andrew Broughton, on the printed stationery of the Prime Minister. Major thanks his correspondent for a book, commenting `I know I shall enjoy dipping into "Barclays World of Cricket", and the fact that it is signed by the Derbyshire Team which won the NatWest Trophy in 1981 makes it all the more acceptable`. Together with a signed 4 x 6 photograph of Major in a head and shoulders pose, signed (`John Major`) in blue fountain pen ink with his name alone to the lower white border, and also including a signed colour 4 x 6 postcard photograph, being a reproduction of the painting of Major by John Wonnacott (1997), signed by Major with his name alone in bold black ink to a clear area. CAMPBELL DONALD: (1921-1967) British Car & Motorboat Racer, Land and Water Speed Record holder. Vintage signed and inscribed 6.5 x 5 photograph of the Blue Bird K4 powerboat, featuring various mechanics seated around the cockpit, one holding a trophy. Signed by Campbell in bold blue fountain pen ink to a clear area at the base of the image. Neatly mounted, and with one slight surface crease, G The Blue Bird K4 was originally commissioned by Donald Campbell`s father, Malcolm Campbell, in which he set a world water speed record on 19th August 1939 on Coniston Water, Cumbria.
MANCHESTER UNITED: An official printed 8vo United Review programme for Manchester United v. Atletico De Bilbao at Maine Road, 6th February 1957, European Cup Quarter Final, Second Leg, individually signed to the front cover image (showing action from the First Leg) by eleven members of the Manchester United team, Bill Foulkes, Roger Byrne, Eddie Colman, Mark Jones, Duncan Edwards, Johnny Berry, Tommy Taylor, Dennis Viollet, David Pegg, Wilf McGuinness and Geoff Bent. Each of the signatures are to clear areas and the majority are in bold blue fountain pen ink. Rare. A light central vertical folds runs through the programme, about VG After trailing 5-3 from the first leg, Manchester United won the second leg 3-0, taking the tie to 6-5 on aggregate. They lost 5-3 on aggregate to Real Madrid in the semi-final, the Spanish team going on to win the European Cup in it`s second season, having also won the trophy in the first season. Dennis Viollet was the competition`s highest scorer with nine goals. Exactly a year to the date after this match, the tragic Munich Air disaster took place, which resulted in the deaths of a number of the Busby Babes, including seven who signed this programme-Geoff Bent, Roger Byrne, Eddie Colman, Duncan Edwards, Mark Jones, David Pegg and Tommy Taylor. Survivors of the crash included Johnny Berry, Bill Foulkes and Dennis Viollet.

Rare 1928 England International Tennis Cap, plus medals and other ephemera: relating to the tennis career of Walter James Giles Lawn tennis professional. The collection comprises a white England International cap with embroidered cross tennis rackets, issued to the players selected to play in the International Tennis Tournament Germany vs. England, played from the 17th – 19th Aug 1928, incl. 2x medals embossed with the trophy and stamped with the tournament details played at Bad Ems, plus the train ticket from London to Bad Emms, together with a postcard of the trophy signed on the reverse by both the German and England teams, players incl: W Giles, Dan Maskell, T. C. Jeffery and Charles Read, in all 17 signatures. Plus W. J. Giles` passport, separate photograph, 1947 list or registered professionals of the LTA, c/w two copies of The Lawn Tennis and Badminton Magazine, both from 1924, one incl. a report of the professional match at Dulwich, between W. Giles (Craigeside professional) and C.W. Lockyer (Dulwich Covered Courts professional).
Early Fives trophy c. 1881: comprising a Lidded Pewter Tankard with hinged lid played for at Sherborne School (Dorset) in 1881 – engraved "Senior Single Handed Fives - 1st. Prize won by E. G. Broadrick" – overall 6.25". Note: Edward George Broadrick (1864-1929) later joined the Malayan Civil Service and comes c/w a copy of his obituary in (Singapore) Straits Times dated 3rd. August 1929.

World Cup 1994 award: Concacaf Federation of North America, Central America & Caribbean engraved glass award presented to Sir Bert Millichip in 1991 – celebrating Three World Cups in 25years, plus Army Association Centenary 1988 Presentation Medal in fitted case and a UEFA / CAF Meridan Cup miniature trophy for the tournament held from 26th January – 9th February 1997 (3).
1957/58 original Wolverhampton Wanderers football trophy signed photograph and scrap books: to inc original large press photograph showing Billy Wright and Stan Cullis (signed by both) with J Howley admiring the 7 trophies won that season incl Div 1 Championship, Central League, FA Youth Cup, etc – mounted on card overall 11 x 11" plus 3 other incl one signed by Bert Williams and 2 x scrap books from the early post war years(6).
2005 Champions League final signed programme: Liverpool v AC Milan signed by winners Liverpool to the front cover. Note: the competition was won by Liverpool FC on penalties in the final, having come back from 3–0 down at half-time. Liverpool`s captain, Steven Gerrard, was named as UEFA`s Footballer of the Year for his key role in the final and throughout the Champions League season. As it was their fifth European Cup title, Liverpool kept the trophy and received the UEFA badge of honour. A new trophy was made for the 2005–06 season. Further signatures in the centre pages.

1973 EUROPEAN CUP FINAL Scarce , original issue programme for the 1973 European Cup Final, Ajax v Juventus in Belgrade. Vendor states that this copy is from the collection of Yugoslav journalist, Slobodan "Boby" Jankovic. Condition is good with no writing or tears although staple is slightly rusty. Measures 16.1cm x 23.3 cm, small lettering on cover on trophy. Very scarce issue. Generally good
