A 19th century continental naval officer’s dress sword, plain shallow diamond section blade 28”, gilt brass hilt with double shell guard the front fixed and embossed with crowned fouled anchor on trophy of flag and foliage, the back hinged and plain, oak leaf panelled knucklebow, and pommel, wirebound (loose) wooden grip, with knot, in its leather scabbard (old repair to centre), with plain brass locket and foliate engraved chape. GC, the hilt retaining approx 40% gilt.
A 1796 pattern light cavalry officer’s sword, curved, shallow fullered blade 32½”, slightly swollen towards hatchet point, etched on one side with crowned GR cypher, trophy and flourishes and on the other with pre 1801 R Arms, supporters and motto, trophy and flourishes, steel stirrup hilt with crossguard, quillon and langets, facetted knucklebow, sloping pommel and backstrap, with small ears to wirebound leather grip, in its steel scabbard (several dents) with 2 rings. A 1970 Triumph TR25W Trophy, registration number BYD 73J, frame number AC10656TR25W, engine number B25B2131, red/black. Produced for only two years, the 250 Trophy was Triumph's answer to the Japanese street scramblers, which were becoming evermore popular. Intended to replace the Tiger Cub in the catalogue, they featured high level exhausts and handle bars. This example is an older restoration which still presents well. It passed its last MOT in July 2017 without any advisories and has been in storage since forming part of a collection. The Triumph will be offered for auction with previous MOTs. Neil Young was an English footballer who made more than 400 appearances in the Football League playing as a striker for Manchester City, Preston North End and Rochdale. In total Young scored 86 goals for Manchester city including the only goal in the 1969 FA Cup final. Tony Book is an English retired footballer and manager who was born in Bath, 4 September 1934. Book spent a large part of his career in Non-League football with his home town club Bath City, before entering league football with Plymouth Argyle. At the age of 31, he joined First Division Manchester City, where he became captain. Under Book's captaincy, Manchester City won four trophies, making him the most decorated Manchester City captain of all-time. Book had a five-year tenure as Manchester City manager from 1974 to 1979, and subsequently held various coaching roles at the club until 1996. Good Condition.
