COBHAM ALAN: (1894-1973) English Pioneer Aviator, a specialist in long distance flights. A large 4to printed menu for a Banquet in honour of Alan Cobham in recognition of his successful flights from England to Capetown and Australia and back, given by the Aeronautical Chamber of Commerce of America Inc., at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York, 29th November 1926, signed by Cobham in dark fountain pen ink with his name alone to a clear area at the head of the menu and further signed by seven other individuals including William P. MacCracken Jr. (1888-1969, American Pioneer Aviator), Frederick Trubee Davison (1896-1974, American Aviator of World War I), Will H. Hays (1879-1954, American Politician) and Mario de Bernardi (1893-1959, Italian Fighter Pilot of World War I, Test Pilot and Seaplane Air Racer of the 1920s) etc. Together with an attractive unsigned 4to printed page (possibly a loose insert originally presented with the menu) honoring Major Mario de Bernardi as Holder of the World's Seaplane Speed Record and achievements with the Italian Schneider Trophy Racing Team and featuring his portrait. Some light overall age wear and some staining, only very slightly affecting some of the signatures. G, 2
SCOTT & BLACK: Charles Scott (1903-1946) English Aviator & Tom Black (1899-1936) English Aviator. Winners of the MacRobertson Air Race in 1934. Signed vintage Tuck postcard by both Scott and Black individually. The image depicting the de Havilland Comet aircraft 'Grosvenor House', below two photographs of Black and Scott. Signed by both Scott and Black in bold black fountain pen ink, with their names alone, to a clear area of the verso. With a small crease to one corner, otherwise VGThe MacRobertson Trophy Air Race (also known as the London to Melbourne Air Race) took place October 1934 as part of the Melbourne Centenary celebrations. Scott and Black completed the race in a time of less than 3 days, despite flying the last stage with one engine throttled back because of an oil pressure indicator giving a faulty low reading.

The 1992 Tennis Federation Cup silver trophy in original presentation box with two signed photos of Steffi Graff. A cased 1992 Federation Cup winners trophy, in the form of a fine quality replica of the Federation Cup, unmarked by the Silversmith, inscribed The Ladies International Team Competition oreee par La Federation Internationale de Lawn-Tennis pour commemorer son 50 eme Anniversaire 1913-1963, mounted upon a wooden base with band inscribed Federation Cup by NEC, Winner, Frankfurt Am Main, Germany, July 12/19, 1992, 21 by 28cm, 8 1/4 by 11in., in original carrying case Germany won the 1992 Federation Cup defeating Spain 2-1. The German team comprised Anke Huber, Barbara Rittner & Steffi Graf. Sabine Hack was selected as a 4th team member but did not play. This was the 30th edition of the most important competition between national teams in womens tennis. For the first time, qualifying rounds were split among three regional zones, each sending teams to the main World Group tournament. Germany defeated Spain in the final, held on 19 July, giving Germany their second title and first since the German reunification. Good Condition.
