SOUTHAMPTON MEDAL 1953 Medal awarded to Jack McDonald of Southampton , Football Combination Cup Competition, Runners up 1952-53. Southampton purchased Jack McDonald from Fulham in 1952 and initially he was successful in their first team, but he lost form and played most of the season in the reserves winning this medal in the process. During his time at Southampton, Jack made 16 first team appearances scoring four goals. The medal, with case, has The Football Combination Cup Competition on the front and on the reverse has a hall-mark and is inscribed Runners-Up 1952-53. Arsenal won the trophy. Good

CHELSEA - WAR CUP MEDAL 1945 Winners medal for the Football League South War Cup Final in which Chelsea defeated Millwall 2-0. This was the first major trophy won by Chelsea, the Final being played at Wembley. The medal was awarded to John (Jack) McDonald who was a right winger and who scored one of the two Chelsea goals in the Final. John was a loan player for Chelsea having been loaned by Bournemouth to the London Club who played eight guest players in the Final including Black, Hardwick and Goulden and Captain Harris. The medal is gold coloured and made by Vaughtons and comes with a cardboard box as it was wartime and many items were in short supply. There is no hallmark on the medal but it is metal and gold coloured, The front of the medal reads London Football Association and there is a Cup inscribed above the London FA Coat of Arms as the London FA organised football for the senior Southern based clubs during the War. The medal has been entered by the McDonald family. Jack McDonald made 7 Cup appearances for Chelsea scoring four goals and also made 3 League appearances scoring one goal. Medal is in good condition, case has a little damage to the lid

Horse racing and Champion Hurdle interest, four silver trophies awarded to the champion racehorse Saucy Kit, trained by 'Peter' Easterby and famously ridden by Roy Edwards to win the 1967 Champion Hurdle Challenge Cup at Cheltenham, to include: the owner's silver replica of the Champion Hurdle trophy by Edward Barnard & Sons Ltd., London 1967, 7¾in. (19.7cm.) high; two covered trophy cups by the same maker, London 1965, inscribed for the 'Kempton National Hunt Centenary Cup Hurdle', 27th Dec. 1966 and 'Wolverhampton National Hunt Centenary Cup', 31st Oct. 1966, both ridden by Edwards; and a large silver gilt trophy, for the 'Beverley Races, The George Habbershaw Trophy' dated 24th August 1966, ridden by N. McIntosh, 15½in. (39.5cm.) high, gross weight 87.5 tr.oz; together with a large framed hand coloured photographic print of 'Saucy Kit'; a smaller mounted monochrome copy of the same portrait photograph by Rex Coleman for Baron Studios; and five enamelled Sandown Park, Ascot and Epsom member's badges dated 1954, 1955 and 1957. Hunt: Very good condition. - Beverley Races: A few scratches to surface which have caused lines of tarnish to gilt and a patch of tarnish approx. 2 x 1in. to back of foot. Needs cleaning. - Photos and badges: In good condition, with no faults.
An Indian silver twin handled trophy, early 20th century, the bowl with repoussé decoration depicting farmer's and their livestock in a landscape, with twin angular handles, on a knopped stem, the foot with similar repoussé decoration, marked 'Dass & Dutt Bhovanipore Calcutta', 7¾in. (19.7cm.) high; together with an Indian silver napkin ring; and three Middle Eastern silver dishes with inset coins, total weight 16.8 tr.oz. (5) * Condition: - Trophy: Bent backwards slightly on stem. Tiny ding to lower stem, otherwise in good condition. - Napkin ring: Slightly mis-shapen and dirty. - Dish: Good condition overall.

(3) * Condition: Large trophy in good condition - base slightly dented to one side. Smaller trophies - one with small dent to lower body, the other with several small dents to body and base.
