A very rare solid bronze and silver plated "Schneider Trophy" car mascot, mounted to an ornate wooden base with silver-plated fittings. A similar example of this piece (offered from the estate of the late R J Mitchell's son) was sold by Dominic Winter Auctions for £27,000 last year. The original full-size Schneider Trophy now resides in the Science Museum, London. These smaller examples are believed to be the 'presentation' versions that were awarded as trophies and mementos for officials, sponsors etc. The trophy was awarded to the fastest seaplane over a 212 nautical mile course. Any country which won the trophy three years out of 5 would be permitted to keep the trophy. Britain completed this in 1931. The trophy is offered in excellent condition, featuring engraved plaques listing former custodians of the award. A superb piece of Rolls-Royce aviation history.
A very attractive Schneider S6B Seaplane accessory radiator mascot, circa 1929 period, stamped 'Rolls-Royce' to the underside of one of the floats. As produced to commemorate the famous Schneider Trophy Races on the South Coast of England at the time, and reputedly awarded to the engine designers, pilots, winners, and officials. Nickel silver finish, on bronze base metal, earlier multi-component example, display base mounted.

Riall 1930-65, by Wright & Davies, London, 1900, 19cm wide,Bioraphical Notes; Air Commodore A B RiallBeginning his career in the Army in 1932 with the East Yorkshire Regiment (India) he was seconded to the RAF Iraq Levies in 1947. In 1948, after relinquishing his commission in the Army, he transferred to the RAF Regiment as a Sqn Ldr. Whilst OC of the Iraq Levies he was Master of the Royal Exodus Hunt in Iraq from 1953 to 1955. After retiring he became the general Secretary of the National Rifle Association from 1968 to1980. He won numerous shooting trophies and one RAF's highest individual shooting trophies is the Arthur Riall Trophy.

This cup has remained in the vendor's family since its presentation. In very good condition
A French gilt metal and Sevres style porcelain mantel clock garniture, unsigned A French gilt metal and Sevres style porcelain mantel clock garniture, unsigned, late 19th century, the circular eight-day bell striking movement with circular powder blue ground Roman cartouche numeral dial with polychrome floral painted concentric band to centre, the case with lovebird and laurel surmount to the shallow arch pediment, fronted with panel painted with a musical trophy over scroll crest and dial flanked by free-standing bulbous uprights painted with reserves of cherubs playing musical instruments within a blue field, the shaped base with conforming inset panel to centre flanked by Ionic pilasters and moulded curved end sections issuing scroll supports, 36cm high (41cm high overall including separate giltwood stand); with a pair of urn-shaped side ornaments en-suite, each painted with panels depicting cherubs and with grotesque mask handles over panel centred shaped base with curved end sections and toupe feet, each 27.5cm high (32cm high overall including giltwood stands).
