Trollope (Frances, 1780-1863). An original pastel portrait of Fanny Trollope, attributed to Sir George Hayter (1792-1871), coloured pastels on paper, heightened with white chalk, approx. 200 x 155 mm, oval mount, period bird's-eye maplewood veneered frame, glazed Originally believed to be a likeness of Charlotte Bronte, this pastel study of Frances (Fanny) Trollope, the novelist and travel writer, and mother of Anthony Trollope, is possibly the work of Sir George Hayter, who was a regular visitor to the Trollope's family home at Harrow. Christopher Richard Wynne Nevinson, A.R.A., 1889-1946 Portrait of christine bonner Signed Pencil, charcoal and pastel 52x41.5cm.; 20.5x16.25in. Executed in 1924. Nevinson wrote in his biography, 'I was now doing a great many portraits....I painted Mrs Bonner, the famous beauty; and her Florentine perfection inspired me to do one of the best heads I have ever done' (C.R.W.
