TODT FRITZ: (1891-1942) German Engineer, a senior Nazi. Reich Minister for Armaments and Munitions. T.L.S., Fr. Todt, one page, 4to, Berlin, 4th December 1941, to the artist Professor Dr. Ludwig Michalek in Vienna, on Todt`s printed stationery, in German. Todt thanks his correspondent for having sent two engravings, which he no longer considers to be the definitive ones, and remarks `I think we should now leave the picture as it stands. The version in pastel is in fact better around the mouth, though perhaps from time to time my mouth does look as it is represented in the latest copperplate engraving. In any case, I thank you for this assiduous artistic endeavour, for which you must have found me a rather impatient model.` In concluding Todt wishes Michalek a Happy Christmas and New Year and hopes that they will see each other again in the future. One very light, minor crease, otherwise VG Ludwig Michalek (1859-1942) Austrian Artist and Illustrator.
