Simon-Bernard Lenoir (1729-1791), oil painting on canvas, portrait of a young girl in pink dress and choker. 56 cm x 41 cm, signed and dated 1756 (see illustration). Simon-Bernard Lenoir was a medallist at The Academie Royale four times between 1749 and 1758. He produced portraits in both oil and pastel many of which were exhibited at The Salons de L'Academie de Saint-Luc between 1760 and 1774. CONDITION REPORT: All of the portraits in this single owner collection were purchased approximately 25 years ago from reputable picture dealers. These are lots 767 to 783 inclusive. All of the paintings are well presented and any restoration work will have been undertaken at this time. We have provided reports on an individual basis. This painting is in very good condition and could be hung in its current state without the need for any repair or restoration. UV light reveals very little. There are some marks across the forehead and facing cheek and also on the neck and just above the dress line. None of these marks are in our opinion significant.
