* LENA ALEXANDER (SCOTTISH 1899 - 1983), PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG GIRL pastel on paper, signed 35cm x 31.5cm Mounted, framed and under glass Note: Considered to be the last of the Kirkcudbright School artists, Lena Alexander was educated at Glasgow School of Art and Edinburgh College of Art and moved to Kirkcudbright in 1939. She primarily worked in pastels and produced vibrant floral still lifes and occasional portraits. Eight of her paintings are recorded in Public collections.

Sir William Russell Flint RA PRWS RSW, Scottish 1880-1969- Reclining nude on a red blanket; black, brown and sanguine pastel on buff board, signed in sanguine pastel, 17.5x25cm, (may be subject to Droit de Suite) Provenance: with Roberts Art Gallery, 759 Yonge Street, Toronto, Canada CONDITION REPORT: mounted in a glazed frame inspection out of the frame reveals the board has a sheet of brown paper partially stuck to the reverse, it is hinged to the mount along the top and bottom edges and has remains of previous taping looking under the mount brown discolouration is visible beneath the edges of the front of the board from the front there is some discolouration and brown spotting over all with a couple of spots darker than others and some white spotting above the head overall reasonably good original condition
